My C8 will be my fifth Corvette. I'm reading posts from C8 owners here describing the gyrations they go through to get to the battery, hence my posts.
Would either of you care to elaborate?
unless I'm not understanding your question, you can buy at the same time as you order your car, or from the parts department or from GM parts the designed battery tender which plugs into the receptacle in the frunk. https://s3.amazonaws.com/rp-part-ima...6c81ab9e34.gif
It's mentioned in the owners manual, and everywhere you search on this topic how to plug this in when needing to garage the car for weeks or months.

Is it the same charger (and plugs) that I received with my C6, or did they change the plug? On the C6 it plugged into the accessory power outlet in the center console.

that I don't know. You might have to do a little research.
Hi guys I am thinking about getting a 2021 or 2022 C8, so are the problems minor or are some major ones? I read couple pages but those were on the first model year so maybe later years don't appply.
Would those problems stop you from ordering C8 again?
I would order another one in a heartbeat. Amazing car, unbeatable performance and style for the money, they hit it out of the park with this car.
I have purchased the radiator screen for the protection of the same from customgrills.com.
Now i understand some people have concerns about these grills blocking airflow and therefore may contribute to overheat problems especially and hot states.
I'm from a very hot weather country,Qatar, where summer daytimes can go up to 50 celsius ~120 F. Should I be concerned ?
weather in the coming few next months gonna be hot and dusty and I'm getting my corvette from the dealer next week. Plz advice guys.
OMG its EASY to get to the battery, those who think its to hard should probably stay with hot wheels. Get a battery tender pigtail and extention, DONE.
Yah? Try it at night with the car completely locked from a dead battery and get back to us...
So regarding the transmission solenoid stuck issue, here's an update (also posted to facebook but figure i'll update here as well)... apparently there's a new service bulletin for this issue. They require a new updated transmission fluid and a software update. Today they did that (this is day 3 since I dropped it off, where on the first day they ran the self-clean procedure (mentioned above) which didn't fix the issue and had to send to GM Engineering for review). They are waiting overnight to do a cold start and check again tomorrow to make sure there are no new codes. If all goes well I'll have it back tomorrow Thursday after catching the CEL on Sunday.
So, definitely an issue that they seem to be getting a handle on.
Did you get your car back, and is the problem resolved? Please keep us updated.
So thanks to some youtube clips I was able to get into the car then find the HIDDEN release for the front trunk and remove the panels (a complete PITA ). Now I'm hoping a repair truck can jump it and then I can get it at least out of our underground garage the flat bed over to the dealer.
Man this SUCKS!
It took me all of 45 seconds to remove the battery access covers on my day old C8 to install my own Battery Tender pigtail to the battery, which I ran up next to the brake fluid cap.

I've got a battery maintainer. I owned the parasitic battery draining C6!
I'm looking for the pigtail people run from the battery to an inconspicuous place where they can hook it up without removing panels as other have discussed.

Ugh.. Day 4 on the transmission solenoid stuck issue. Still at the dealer. This is what they said.. After the update and cold start test the check engine light came back on. They are going to talk to GM. Either GM will order a new transmission or they'll want to open it up to diagnose further.
Actually I'm kinda hoping they just replace it. But who knows how long this might take.
Either way this is looking like it's gonna be a long wait.

It doesn't take all that long to replace the transmission once they get it in stock, but getting it in stock can definitely take some time due to shortages...

Thanks a lot for that! I am getting pretty close to put a deposit down. I need to research about C8 a little more as I just started reading about 5 days ago.

Ok, got a call back from the service manager about 90 min after the previous call.
They talked to GM and GM is recommending to replace the valve body, which has some solenoids, so I'm assuming those were the affected ones (that must have been throwing the codes). That, plus a flush of course, and then they'll road test again to see. The wait time on the valve body they said is 3-4 days. So I'm thinking mid to late next week to see if that fixes it. Will update again next week when I find out.
I actually appreciate the quick updates from the service advisor/manager. Not knowing the status is brutal. Waiting for parts is not *sooo* bad, but I really miss my car!! I waiting 19 months to get it, now this! Ugh.. Hopefully this fixes it though.
