2020 HTC with 5K plus miles. 25 mile, 40 minute ride, top down, AC on, medium humidity. Parked in garage and 4 hours later this puddle is observed. Also a few small moisture patches down the centerline of the car. Feels like water, no smell, I even tasted it…..a tad salty. Never saw this amount at this location before.
Opinions and ideas welcome.
My opinion: AC condensation. The evaporator condensation drains into the center tunnel and the water finds the easiest path out.
Or possibly condensation from a weep hole in the exhaust.
How much was your 84/100,000 plan and what's your current age/miles?
It's probably best to call Dennis Fitchner and give him a description of your vehicle, its delivery date and current mileage. He'll email a very extensive list of months-mileage choices and the price for each tailored for you car. In May 2018, his prices were several hundred dollars better than others I found on the Internet.

I agree, most likely AC condensation that had pooled in the center tunnel. Nice to know that you don’t have one of the cars that had the moisture drain into the passenger foot well.
sleekvt, that's a lot. I'm truly very sorry about the problems you're experiencing with your new C8. I can't even imagine how painful that experience must be. I hope it is resolved completely and quickly. For the record, my C8 has not given me any mechanical problems whatsoever over 10 months and 6400 miles of delightful service.
You mentioned that your dealership told you that the extended warranty they offered was only available at the time of purpose. My dealer held me up for about half an hour during delivery trying to sell me such a warranty which is not a GMEPP. It looked good, but the pressure to sell it gave me the gut feeling they were trying to sell me a "bill of goods." I declined, of course. As I and others have posted, the GMEPP can be purchased up until the manufacturers 3-year warranty ends. You might consider canceling the warranty they sold you.
You are absolutely correct. I just purchased my 84/100,000 plan from Dennis Fichtner - Laurel Chevrolet.

for all of you that want to feel good/better about your extended warranties… I thought I’d try something different with my C8 purchase. Instead of spending the $ on a bumper to bumper and separate wheel/tire policy I thought I’d beat the system. Took $6600 instead and put it aside with a stock purchase to serve as my ‘warranty fund’ - hoping to not need to draw on the entire amount by the end of my C8 ownership. Assumed it would grow quicker than my need to tap into those funds (also assuming I won’t need a new tranny). That $6600 is currently worth $4100… so I’m going backwards.

The problem with these warranties are they are usually a BAND AID FIX. It's no good if you plan to keep your car for a very long time or over the warranty period because eventually that warranty will expire plus dealerships will use the very same part only to fail again in the future unless they actually correct the problem with upgraded part. Otherwise same old problem will happen again and this time it will come out of YOUR pocket $$$$.
Probably alot of C8 buyers lease so they don't have to worry about this to a certain extent.

No No No - you are wrong about extended warranty’s. Car Shield bought that guy on the TV a new transmission and a new motor!
who does that? They told me on tv!!

For funsies this morning I let it raise when I first started the car and it gave me the option to store the position so I did. This afternoon on my way home the car raised up shortly before my driveway. Here's hoping it keeps working.
Checking in to say it has worked flawlessly ever since I did this.
2022 HTC - roof inop. Bad right motor - in shop for 30 days waiting on parts. Then right headlight inop (not daylight sensor but actual light assembly) -

Geez that sucks. Is the roof stuck open, closed, or somewhere in between?
I took my C8 into my Chevy dealer for my first oil change. The dealer said that my coolant plug/ cylinder head is leaking. The y said not to drive the car for any length of time and wait until the part comes in to get it fixed. Has anybody else had this problem? Or if anybody can clue me in on this I would appreciate it.

Commonly called a "freeze" plug. There to protect the block from cracking should the coolant in the engine freeze where the plug is pushed out vice cracking the block. Multiple ones are commonly installed in the sides of the short block vice the heads, but not sure on the C8 engine. Sounds like it wasn't seated properly and is leaking after the coolant system is under pressure when the engine is up to operating temp. Rare to see from the factory, but sh*t happens. I would honor the advice from the dealer until they can properly install a new one.
The clutch seized open causing a horrible loud rattle I thought my engine was toast when it first happened lol. Busted clutch rattle bounces off firewall and redirects intensified sound to the intake manifold area. Obviously no CEL and blowing hot air gave it away, but damn the sound was deceiving.
my local dealer actually had another C8 for same A/C Compressor failure issue and had to order 2… Part on back order of course but only took 2.5 weeks to get them in. Replaced with new unit in like 1/2 day all good now.
Never had an A/C compressor fail on a new low mileage car, but after first thinking I snapped/dropped a spring or some other known horrible top end issue… I’ll take a crapped compressor all day long over that. I don’t know how in the hell they replaced without dropping the engine as its so damn tight in corner against firewall but damn glad they didn’t have to.
