I recommend this book to everyone; will certainly change this thread: “The Power of Bad” by John Tierney and Roy Baumeister. Negativity is addictive and is generally not helpful.

C8PRO / Unfortunately my car began to have these same transmission issues today at around 625 miles. It will no longer go into any of the odd number gears. Just all of a sudden happened which was really weird. I was just cruising along on a minimal grade and it felt like the tranny just slipped all of a sudden. Happened in the early part of a planned long drive today and I had to cautiously get myself about 50 miles back home. Going to schedule a trip to the dealership shortly. So disappointed as I am absolutely loving the car. Hopefully this can be resolved soon.

What's your VIN? The other times I've seen this happen turning the car off and on again fixed the issue.

C8 Problems forum needs sub folders... too much gets posted that makes it too difficult to keep track of specific issues with key parts such as transmission, paint, interior finishes, etc.

2362 is the VIN. To this point the shutting the car off / starting back up fix has not worked.

my buddy sold his. Our other friend has a detail place. The guy who bought it brought it there. We were just discussing. The paint. I mentioned your car and another I saw. His response?

and that car is getting a ton of mods done to it.

That car is also rattling in a few spots they are trying to narrow it down. The owner doesnt care about the paint flaking and bubbling owns several other high end cars highly modified. He paid $22k over sticker for that C8.. $105k..

* added couple more

Front fan rattling when comes on

Turn signal doesn't shut off when turning left only right.

That vin was 1236 iirc.

Idk if that will ever be addressed. It looks like tolerances are so tight all it takes is the wrong temperature with a tight seem and that's the result. The panels are fresh. I don't see prep being the issue. That flexible composite and the hard paint (maybe just not enough flex additive? Its expensive).

I'm working on getting a close up pic from this CMG one I referenced in other post.

The C5 had a hard bolted joint on each fascia; never any issues with paint adhesion. Either they're not getting the mold release off the parts, something is contaminating the parts at the plant, or the paint is not fully cured when assembled.

agreed it's something like that but just maybe it's the flexibility on those corners and edges? My C6 busted a clip on the fascia which caused the one ear tonsil proud. But that paint didn't flake not I saw plenty others that did. The Z06 (C7) front fender vents 2015 thru 2019 (early) used to dig into the paint in the Corners and it would pop up and bubble in a similar manner.

Expansion and contraction rate of the composite material is different than the hard plastics (eg vent and say a headlight) so that happening plus the other things you mention are a recipe for this. My 16 had no no fascia issues but I still check my 19 everytime o walk past it. And when I do eventually get a C8? I suspect the bad taste will longer and I'll constantly be checking that area as well.. left over ocd i guess.

Default Dog go trans

Well looks like my problems are mounting up today a message popped up saying park car shifting will go out shortly car started knockd and a slight vibration was felt. A burning smell of oil or trans was strong. Had it flat bed towed to local dealer. Be warned I’m the third C8 with their response. Bowling green is not adding enough transmission fluid.

It lasted perhaps 5-10 seconds until I mashed the start engine button to kill the motor. I restarted and everything was fine. What motorized item item is located in the left front fender area?
Mine absolutely does this sporadically as well! It's definitely something to do with the driver's side radiator cooling fan. When it's a nice day im going to take the wheel off and poke around.
