I think that the Z51 takes longer to warm up, but once either reaches operating temperature, the point becomes moot. I'm sure that the Z51 would make a difference I'd one is racing (keeping high revs vs speed) , but other than that, it's academic. Don't sweat the small stuff. I left that to Tadge and his design team.
My new 2022 HTC C8 has a very jerky ride that’s incredibly irritating. Dealer tried to fix with no success. Now told it needs parts and Chevrolet has no idea when the parts will arrive. Chevrolet says they accept ‘accountability’. Big deal. My new car doesn’t work. And it’ll be the end of summer before I can drive my convertible. Very, very disappointed with Chevrolet.
Message comes up: Service Power steering, no assist soon
Dealer says it needs steering gear replaced. On back order of course. ANybody have any experience with this?
I'm reluctant to drive car
Well you called it. Failed seal caused damaged to the half shaft. GM engineers stated they've only seen one other similar failure and . . . its new transmission.
As with ALL manufacturing, there are occasional items of error that make it through and are not caught. No need to throw the baby out with the wash water as they say. 'glad most of these problems are not rampant throughout all builds or MYs. That is the reason for a warranty period - to have these items rear their ugly head and be removed. It is a minor or major inconvenience if you happen to be one of them. My ONLY concern is that my C8 is not a DD and the 3 years will have come and gone without even coming close to the 36K. Crossing fingers mileage doesn't expose problems that aren't time dependent vs usage.

Lets see how you feel when your DCT needs replacement out of warranty!

I think there are two reasonable choices to take if this is a concern...
1. purchase an extended warrantee
2. sell the car
Obsessively worrying about any object that you own is not a good solution or plan.
YMMV
I plan to go with #1, purchase an extended warranty/service contract. I’ll wait until just shy of the expiration of the 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
My front end lift NEVER works when I approach my driveway, even though I stored the position on the first day. When I press the button to lift it, nothing comes on the screen to give me the option to save the location. However, as soon as I start my car after parking in the driveway or garage it immediately raises on its own. Anybody dealt with this?

When I first got the car I had to delete the initial location and do it again - no problems since and that was 8 months back.
For funsies this morning I let it raise when I first started the car and it gave me the option to store the position so I did. This afternoon on my way home the car raised up shortly before my driveway. Here's hoping it keeps working.
Just got my c8 last month , when trans gets to 155 and over there is a shudder when letting foot off brake and gently on gas.
I reached 500 miles it is still doing it. If I go to reverse it is very smooth.

A) Been years since delivery, but not a DD
B) Only "Major" problem was the Tx leaks and they were totally resealed under warranty - don't expect a repeat anytime soon
C) Roll the dice - self insured re repairs
D) Same risk on all of my vehicles, do the same - Roll the dice
E) ....
I guess like some here i could blame GM for the nail in my tire (not fixable) vs just paying to replace.
Still love and my
