Make sure Nicole didn't trash your roof tarp!
If 100 people bought a C8 and only 2 had any problems then those 2 would incessantly rant on every forum about their crappy, problem ridden, C8 and the other 98 wouldn't say a thing, just the nature of the beast. Don't fall for all the negative hype. My 2020 C8 has been rock-solid for 2+ years and was the best car purchase I ever made!

Give it a rest. I sold my Mustang GT to get the C8.
The Mustang has a legendary list of problems, and mine was no exception. The GT350 had the first version of the Tremec DCT and it had overheating problems, would go into limp mode after light tracking (go watch youtube videos of this). TR9080 in the C8 is the next generation, more gears and more cooling, integral diff etc and enough changes that there are going to be some issues.
How about the 2005-2007 Mustang spark plug problems? Legendary!
How about the Manual Tranny rattling / "oil-canning" issues with models before 2007? TSB's on that too...I could go into a long list of things I had go wrong with my mustang, some of it just due to age though.
The C8 issues you hear about are boosted via selection bias though.
Always remember the failure rate "bathtub". You will always see the highest failure rate up early, then a much lower failure rate over lifetime before components start to exceed their design/anticipated lifespan.
Dohabanit is correct..Im picking up my 2nd C8 in 2 weeks from Macmulkin...the time from allocation (February) to delivery (November) will be about 9 months on the 2023s.....and it was worth the wait...I Love the car and Ive been monitoring this chat group since its inception almost 3 years ago and although the early c8s had problems (and I thank the early c8 owners for posting and enduring the problems they encountered).....The frequency with which we are seeing problems being posted here has gone down significantly....and so when you look at the number of c8s that are on the road now vs the number of problems being posted...I would say the failure rate has gone down significantly...the thing you also have to realize is that on this forum...your only going to see posts from folks who are experiencing problems (that's the purpose of this platform to help share the knowledge)...and your not going to see folks posting here about how great the c8 really is...IMHO...the c8 is by far the best corvette ever built...bar none...the Mustang is a formidable opponent to the Camaro...but doesn't come close standing next to a c8...dollar for dollar you can buy a better high performance production sports car ..Thank You Chevrolet for getting this one right!
Ps...just want to give a shout out to RACE READY PANELS...Their customer service and attention to detail on the engine covers is flawless..I highly reccommend them..ask for William

I did one of these for an aircraft fuel pump once (it was difficult getting good data). It was pretty much as shown, except the bathtub had a bit of a hill in the middle. Never did figure out why.
I always find it helpful to bring a checklist with me to do my "post" PDI inspections during the Delivery as I find it can be somewhat distracting during the delivery process and the checklist allows me to stay focused...I'd rather catch things during this time to make sure these things are well documented and left with the Dealer for corrections...
I've gathered quite a bit of info over the past months thanks to other members who posted here on our forum and have compiled a list of problems that people reported finding either during delivery or immediately after getting home when the adrenaline has subsided, and they've had more time and a clearer mind to look at things with a greater focus....
Here is my list so far...I'm hoping that others can chime in and add items you may have discovered after your delivery inspection...Keep in mind that this is not the PDI list, but additional items often overlooked or not looked at all during PDI..
TIA

You should also look for milky water marks INSIDE the front headlight lens assemblies. You can see some threads here about it. Once you see them, you can't unsee them and the entire front of the car has to be removed to correct the issue. My dealer advised me to WAIT and have it repaired later on. Not sure that is a good idea, I am going to ask them to put that into writing for me.
I also had damage to the underside of the coupe trunk lid AFTER it was painted black that appears to be caused by the jig assembly they use a BGA. So I am guessing it is possible others have had this damage occur as well. If you want some pics send me a DM.
Follow up on transmission issue. 22 days at dealer for transmission diagnosis and eventual replacement. All seems to be working well and the transmission shifts smooth through all 8 gears. Now the temperatures have fallen and snow is flying. Will try to get it out as much as possible as the weather permits to get through the break in period.
How will the Pre Delivery list help for someone that has traveled a long distance to meet there new C8 for a CD?
You mentioned leaving it at the dealer to fix the issues. My CD is 5 hours from my home and I don’t intend on leaving it indefinitely for them to fix something. This will be a two day trip up and back. Boise to Salt Lake City.
I understand it’s important to find these issues and get them fixed, but…..other than them making note of an issue what can they really do the day of delivery? Let’s say you find three things on your list for them to fix.
Would you leave it and come back a week later with another 5 hour trip?
Can they order parts and have them shipped to my home dealer for the fix?

The answer is it depends. It would be your choice to leave the car until all the issues are taken care of, or take delivery of the car with the items noted and then get them fixed later either at the dealer that delivered the car for you or at another dealer. For me personally it would depend on how serious the issues were and how many issues there were to fix. My dealer is 4 hours away. Had there been any issues that I found at the time of delivery I would have made arrangements for them to fix the car either right away or at a later time unless the issue was a very serious one that prohibited me from driving the car. This should never be the case though as your dealer should find serious problems during PDI and it would likely just be cosmetic issues or issues with assembly that have been known problems.
I picked my car up last week. The dealer did a great job during their inspection and delivery and I could not find anything wrong with car even when having all of the lists of issues others have been unfortunate enough to find. I likely won't know the exact condition of the paint until I get it to my detailer but the paint looks awesome under my high intensity LED lights and out in the sun to my eyes. Like any Corvette I am sure it is far from perfect but then I'm not expecting perfection either. This is a car I will drive, not put on display.

I'm very fortunate that my CD is only 20 min away from my home...
And it's just to document issues found before driving off lot and if any major issues are discovered then return to Service at a later date to fix...My CD is totally on board with this and actually encourages me to do this before leaving the lot...
If issues are found that require replacement parts, then of course you'll have to return once parts arrive to have them replaced...
I suggest since you are so far away from your CD that any issues you do find at your CD you have documented there and then have your local Service Dept handle the repairs...

One of the many reasons for a local delivery - UNLESS they S^CK, Overpriced, Too long for order to delivery.
We had a 40+ list for the 2020MY - Not everyone had every problem. It was a total for the entire year. many 1 offs.
I do not know what still applies, but I'd check anyways.
Started engine and nav screen never turned on. Phone was connected, music would play, but screen completely black. Tried pressing home button and some others but nothing worked. Drove 1/4 mile and it didn’t come on.
Pulled over and restarted car and it was back to normal. Probably a software glitch
@MattMD Same thing happened to me twice and yes, it was daylight. Also same resolution (stopped car, restarted, display returned). Just commenting so you know you're not the only one.
^^ I think it did it once to me over 3 years. Turn off, restart problem gone. hat do you expect anymore with everything being run by programs designed by children. Just a bug - better known as a series of events/keystrokes that the programmer never even considered. As a former IT professional, i used to literally used to just lean on the keyboard when my programmers used to bring me their software for initial review (testing) and watched as their chins bounced off the floor. They would say, No one would do that and I would say they just did, now jo fix it and program for every possibility, not just the 4 you think they will choose!

That's a hilarious story.
My motto with any electronics: when in doubt, reboot.

I hope the lists make their way to GM's C8 Quality director. Quality engineers should each have a task list of issues to investigate and check off, once resolved.
