Thanks for the update. Mine goes to the dealer this Friday for a P2724, P0869 and P0868 codes. The car runs fine but when coming to a stop there is some severe jerking while at a stop. They plan to flush the transmission and go from there if that doesn't work. That being said, my check engine light cleared this morning. Taking it in anyway just to be sure.
Wanted to give everyone an update on mine above. The check engine light came back on and took it to the dealer. The transmission flush didn't work so they had to replace the transmission valve body, and a new filter to boot. So far so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.
As one reviews this thread, problems overall, some serious, are fortunately not every C8. Sorry for the unfortunate few. My TX leak (@ 2500) is a major/serious issue, but it was just a minor inconvenience as it was all resolved with a trip to my local dealer R&R seals under warranty. With all of the above as background, it makes the recent extended warranty (to me) a no brainer at its cost. Previously, $3000 and up as it was presented/offered before from various sources including dealers made self insuring the best option just like wheel/tire insurance (in excess of $1200) . That insurance would be expiring soon and I'm ahead on that even after paying (apx $400) for an out of pocket tire replacement due to a nail on the edge. Insurance is all about cost/benefit. I don't expect to get 2 more flats before the tire insurance would have run out. Burt with apx 10 years and 60K mileage coverage, I'm glad to keep my proven 2020MM C8! I might entertain a Zora one day though. I Would still keep my 2020.
Less that 700 miles on my new 2023 C8 equipped with front suspension lift system option (E60). The system stops operating and I get a Service Lift System message. May come back intermittently after not being used for a couple of days. Took it into dealer and a TSB that essentially bleeds trapped air in the system was performed. A few days following, the dreaded service message reappeared as the system stopped working. Second visit to dealer resulted in determination that shock assembly is leaking and needs to be replaced (although I've seen no evidence of any fluids on my garage floor). Shock is on back order - no clue when it will become available unfortunately. Will keep this updated
Brand New C8 Vert - Top Sensor Says Not Roof Closed
After a year wait, my new '23 Vert just landed at the dealer off the truck. During pre-delivery they found an issue - anyone hear of this before??? The top is up but the "roof closed sensor" built into the roof thinks it's not latched and still open - puts up a huge warning on the dash that stays in your face - car not drivable this way. The dealer can't deliver it until fixed and says they've consulted with GM engineers and a new roof ECM, sensors and clips for the roof are backordered and being sent "in a couple of weeks". UGH - brand new and they can't deliver the car. Anyone else with convertible roof sensor issues? LMK - and how Chevy fixed it or other ideas - thank you! Cheers, Mark

I have a 2022. When I picked it up and drove it home there were no issues. The next day, after putting the roof down and back up I got a "Top Not Secure" message. I could drive the car but not over 58 mph. The dealer changed the roof sensor and we still got same the message. Turned out to be a rigging issue with the roof latching mechanism's magnet not aligning with the sensor. Dealer had to remove the interior roof lining and made rigging adjustments that caused the latching mechanism's magnet to better lineup with the sensor when the roof is closed.

Now we are equating rocker launch sensor with roof sensor? Wow

Why stop a C8 from driving when the MOVEABLE TOP thinks it is still open?.
If you want to go down the aeronautical analogy route, most jet airliners have an array of fuses. Pretty much any subsystem can be bypassed by the pilots. The assumption is that they know what they are doing. If the roof is closed and latched, I do not see a problem with a bypass setting in the vehicle settings. In the old days before computers there may have been a 'dummy' indicator light telling you the roof was ajar and you could still drive the car. Isn't this the case with car doors still? You can still drive the car even if the door is ajar. The assumption is that sensors can malfunction and that the end user can override the sensor.
p.s. Your statement probably runs afoul of the terms of service of this board.

The top opens with the front edge. If it is not secure and you are at speed, it could blow open violently and potentially cause you to lose control of the car.
There are probably NHTSA rules as well.
If the top sensor says there is a problem with closure (wrong indication or otherwise), I don't think it is unreasonable to think this would be cause for the vehicle to go into limp mode.
Started engine and nav screen never turned on. Phone was connected, music would play, but screen completely black. Tried pressing home button and some others but nothing worked. Drove 1/4 mile and it didn’t come on.
Pulled over and restarted car and it was back to normal. Probably a software glitch

My personal experience with the display screen going totally dark happened when I left home so early and dark in my last C7. As the sun started to rise, light sensor seemed to get confused and the display went black. Twisting the backlight control **** brought back the display. I say worth a try the next time it happens.
Received my 2023 C8 late September of this year. Beautiful car and great to drive for 295 miles. On the way home it stuck in 1st gear and would not shift. Manual shifting also did not work. Shut off car and waited for a while. After restarting, the car it would shift only into odd numbered gears. This continues for the trip home and for the trip to the dealership. Its now been at the dealer for the past 19 days diagnosing the transmission. After extended diagnosis and many calls from the service department at the local Chevy dealership they have decided the best approach is to replace the transmission at 301 miles. Initial feedback from the service department was that it would be difficult to locate a new transmission but they now have one and say they should be complete soon. I have not heard conclusively the issue but they indicated potential contamination on a sensor. It's very disappointing to have a high end car like this down with so few miles. I think the shop has had the car as long as I have.
Note about the dealership. They have kept me current on all updates via text or phone call and have been very professional during this extended service event.
This may be an anomaly but it sure puts question in your mind.
It would seem the 2023 DCTs are failing right and left compared to the previous years.
I’ve been reading posts about DCT issues for the last 18 months. While I agree it’s very frustrating for the people who have them I still maintain it’s a very low percentage of the total cars produced. 1% at the most.
after reading all of these problems , is it too late to cancel my vette that;s sitting in Houston.. scary stuff... 3 years in.. My mustang GT had a bad battery once....
