1700 miles in, my C8 lost all coolant and engine overheated. I was in a driving rain and had no idea that coolant was lost. Interesting that the car has no low coolant warning.
Also, when it comes to towing, be aware that it is basically impossible to put the car in neutral without starting the engine. Not exactly what you want to do with an engine issue.
Issue was a hose clamp improperly installed at the factory.
What about the coolant temp gauge in the cluster? It did not show it was starting to over heat?
Here's a new one from today. New C8 was driving fine then it stopped as though it was out of gas. Oil pressure light came on, zero oil pressure. Car would not start up. Dealership cut open the oil filter and found lots of metal shavings. First guess would be that the oil lubrication system failed. I'm sure we'll hear more details later....

Yes, that's how I became aware of the issue. First, it said engine hot, no ac, then shift to neutral, then stop engine. I was not in a place that I could stop safely in the storm earlier. If it had a low coolant light I would have known much sooner and could have shut down then.

Just picked up my new C8 yesterday, 2LT interior. Love the car, getting used to it. Look at the passenger seat....appears that there is not enough cushioning/padding in the seat and it's wrinkled. I've seen this on other posts, so I was not completely surprised, but I wish the quality control caught this and did something about it. The stitching on the dashboard has one spot that is not exact.
I'm in the auto industry and I understand why this happens, but if I'm GM, I rectify this asap.

No sensor in the tank? Even C5s had a coolant level sensor. That really stinks.

Car should go into neutral with accessory power on.

I agree, it should but won't. Dealer service suggested doing that and holding down the N button, but it did't work. Apparently the only way is to remove the storage unit and do something on the tranny- I forgot what they said.
Suffered through the Info screen issue on my ‘14 C7 thus having it replaced under warranty. So I’m sensitive to this issue but it has not reoccurred on my ‘20 C8 with about 1.2k miles. But there has been a longitudinal off color stripe on the left side of my dash screen that I attributed to glare from the driver’s side window. Today a bubble appeared smack dab in the middle of the dash screen. At first panic struck and I thought “O No, not again”. But subsequent reasoning revealed the cause. A protective plastic cover was not removed and took until now for me to noticed. The screen brilliance looks to have doubled. So double check that yours has been removed.

400 miles- I ran into this exact same issue while driving on the 4th and I don’t recall seeing a low coolant warning either. Had to get it towed and am waiting for the dealer to take a look at it- hoping it’s nothing major and maybe it’s just an issue with the hose clamp not being installed correctly.
