Dude, I got a first-year C7 also. It was not bug-free, but I didn't care. I wanted that car, bugs and all. The entire touchscreen unit had to be replaced, along with a few other things. This was a widespread problem, which is fact. If you personally had no issues, all props to you, but to make some kind of insinuation that first-year cars do not have bugs is insane. They do.
Yup same here early 2014's had issues. SW bugs, my touch screen needed replacing, the fuel neck stop falling into the fuel tank recall, overfilled oil on Z51. Just like the C8 the C7 forum had its list of people having engines replaced. Then look at the 15's with torque converter issues, took GM 1 1/2 .years to get that one fixed.
My 2014 also had the touchscreen replaced. No big deal though - just make sure you get everything out of the cubby. By the way, does the touchscreen drop on the C8? It doesn’t look like it.
I think the electronics will be the weak link of this car. Seeing strange CAN bus errors is one example.
Still, I wish I had mine.

Various Electronics Thas been 90% of the problems encountered during my warranty period on my other GM vehicle. That's probably true of most vehicles manufactured in the last 5-10 years. We're buying engines and bodies wrapped around by many computers.
First issue has arisen with my C8. It's VIN0049 built on February 3rd and my air conditioning has quit. Nothing but warm air on the warmest day of the year!

Sucks.
There have been AC issues with some new 2020 BMW M8's of late, compressor is the culprit, don't know if sourced from the same supplier as the C8, and they are also on backorder.

Oh joy...well hopefully it will turn out to be an easy fix. I'll update the thread this upcoming week.
How long did you have it before this paint problem showed up?
I have had it since March, but only 880 miles due to COVID and working from home. Based on the comments I'm seeing on Facebook, it's a pretty common issue in this spot.

That is a pain in the butt. GM have known about this issue since the C7 days. Now even with the new $500million paint plant it is still an issue. Not good.
So much for the GM will fix it this time aroundo, not good enough.

There is apparently a bulletin out for GM to fix affected cars, and the plant is fixing at the assembly level. Unfortunately mine is covered in PPF, which wouldn't be covered during the repair, so I'm not about to have it ripped off to repaint the bumper and pay to have new film applied at my cost. Sucks, but I guess I'll touch it up and move on.
Hi there, I am an engineer at Dodson Motorsport.
We noticed a few people are posting about a transmission problem where the gearbox only uses even gears and goes into a limp mode.
Fault codes from the TCM are:
P0700
P2838
P2839

Could help my self and restarted the car and back to normal.... I didn’t try putting it in reverse the first time... but in any case just drove the car for some 20 miles and just like if nothing ever happened😁!!!! Happy for that but concerned about when will this issue shows again 😟...
If anyone has experienced something similar, please reply and let me know...
Besides this issue the car has been just pure joy... perfect in every way....
I will keep updates as GM is contacted and I get information about this issue!!!
i got my car in service today... they believe it has to do with the car learning the driver patterns and so on. They uploaded a refresh update in my odd gears into the system and most importantly I got my car back the same day!!!! I will inform periodically on this situation.. my hope is that all is good and taken care now!!!! C8 rocks and yes I will be in line to buy it again.. it’s beyond imagination...🏎❤️It!!! 😀
Hi folks, my Corvette was serviced yesterday 3/24/2020. The technician was able to recover 3 codes (P0700, P2838, P2839) if anyone can help me understand what they mean that will be awesome...
with intense help from GM tech support, the transmission programming for odd gears was reset and reloaded. GM believes it is possible that is related to the learning mode and so on...
I got my Corvette back at the end of the day... 😄...
Take care for now!

Apparently they have identified a failure with something inside the transmission preventing the odd gears to engage and only keep changing bt even gears. For additional details on my issue you can see my earlier posts. While I am not happy about having to go thru this, I commend GM for the decision to replace the transmission and to send it back to fully understand this issue to prevent a potential painful recall situation in the future. I wish GM technical support contact me directly for a dialog on my situation and for ways they can compensate me for this very unfortunate situation.
I will keep posting as get more updates. omeprazole Magnesium

We thought we might be able to shed some light on this issue.
The fault codes translate to issues with the shift fork for 5/7th gears.
In a transmission that we have disassembled, we found that there was a flaw on assembly which resolved in a damaged seal for that shift fork.
This seal will cause the shift fork to become stuck or "lazy" in 7th gear and no return to its neutral position or engage 5th. This would explain when driving at 50-55mph the issue arises.
We hope this clarifies what the potential problem could be.

That's worrying... do you expect all of the first shift C8s (some 3000) to have this assembly issue?
My AC drain line got kinked and misaligned somehow and flooded my passenger floorboard carpet. Dealer realigned the line, siliconed it in place so it wouldn’t pop back out and then disinfected and cleaned all the carpets.

You're the 2nd or 3rd to report that. Hopefully the dealer is feeding this stuff back to BGA to make ongoing improvements.
1700 miles in, my C8 lost all coolant and engine overheated. I was in a driving rain and had no idea that coolant was lost. Interesting that the car has no low coolant warning.
Also, when it comes to towing, be aware that it is basically impossible to put the car in neutral without starting the engine. Not exactly what you want to do with an engine issue.
Issue was a hose clamp improperly installed at the factory.
