I will be getting a C8, even after hearing everything here. This is the GAME CHANGER, not the 2021. To me this is so special, this is my first "C" of any number. How many would not want a C1 with all of its deficiencies? BTW, the first one (C8) happen to fetch $3M with all of its unknown problems. And you think Rick thought it would be perfect without problems to be discovered after the fact? Enjoy it or go to the Porsche fan page that is mentioned waaaay to much here. Maybe I should join there trash talking 911,... and say I'm going to get a C8.
A lot of twisted logic in this paragraph. The first C8 would have still fetched $3M even if it didn't have an engine given that it will never be driven. It's a museum piece from what I've heard.

Some missed the point. Regardless of anything else, this is year 1 of the mid-engine corvette and the corvette history. Later, better, improved, .... but Nothing else will be the first year! It was the Game Changer for me, not just another car.
Have 2LT with red/black interior. Noticed all pic's of same interiors on forum have red stitching on horn button and other black panels. The horn button I have is plain black plastic?

Noticing a few transmission problems. Reminds me of my 2105 with the new 8 speed automatic. I had waited until the second year of the C7 hoping most bugs were worked out. Unfortunately it was the first year for the 8 speed. Transmission quit at 79 miles. Had the car back in 4 working days. GM had a new one overnighted and told dealer to overnight mine back. Mine was an early car.
I’m planning on a 2021 to avoid teething problems. Hope I don’t get bit again.

Sorry, but the first product year of a car is not going to be worth more. In fact, future used car buyers will probably avoid first year models, just like they do for the C7, in order to obtain a model with the bugs worked out. Get a first year model if you enjoy being the first, but don't make the mistake of thinking it will be worth more.

While I doubt a first year C8 will be worth more than later years (at least not for a LONG time) there were a lot of people that preferred the first year C7 over the later years because of the more reliable A6 transmission.

talk about antiquated. While short term it was an issue. It has been resolved. And never Ever was the 6spd more reliable. The 8spd is nearly indestructible. But that's for another section.
Personally? I would wait for a C8 agter the Z06 is out and that tech and robust reinforcement trickles down to the Base car.
Frankly, I am tired of hearing about 1st year bugs. I bought very early C6, C7 and C8 with zero regrets. All three have been free of bugs and just a load of fun to own. While I’m driving a new model, others are telling themselves to wait. I think that is the wrong attitude.
If someone is waiting for a totally bug free new car, they will be waiting a long time.
that's true for the C7 oh the car had it shares of problems mechanical transmission engine
I've had two engines and one transmission replaced in three c7s
however the C8 is flawless no issues transmission no issues with the engines so far I think GM upped her game and fix all those bugs from the previous generations I believe the first production c8s gonna be valuable the fact that GM only made a few thousands instead of tens of thousands
first time in history
Anybody see Jake Miller's C8...it fell off of list....my first reaction was>>>F'K!!!! Was waiting for delivery on a new vette couple yrs ago and dude forgot to put in park and rolled down the hill...needless to say got a new one!

Let me put my sunglasses on! Somebody went overboard with the Photoshop controls on this image...

Dude, I got a first-year C7 also. It was not bug-free, but I didn't care. I wanted that car, bugs and all. The entire touchscreen unit had to be replaced, along with a few other things. This was a widespread problem, which is fact. If you personally had no issues, all props to you, but to make some kind of insinuation that first-year cars do not have bugs is insane. They do.
