Prior to the frunk hood release episode, when I put the car into reverse, I got a blue screen with a message to repair the backup camera. I have seen this several times previously. I then continued out of the parking lot onto the street where the hood released upward as I accelerated. Prior to the incident, I did not receive any message on the instrument panel referencing "trunk open". Could this imply a computer problem?
Put me down as one of the Frunk guys. No message till frunk was in my face. Took to dealer and 2 2020's in body shop same issue!!! come on GM help out...

@Jordan6908 did you accidentally open it and not see the message? Or are you saying it was fully and properly closed and opened on it's own?
Cant tell. I thought it was closed but dealer thinks people are hitting inside ( 1 button to open) and no dash indicator is coming on until hood is already up!!!! 3 cars in one body shop same problem.

I've had this issue with mine (see pg1 I think it was) randomly since picking the car up from the dealer. They replaced the camera and it didn't help, so ordered the video module. When I get it replaced (if it ever comes), I'll report back, but hopefully it fixes it. No issues with my frunk, so it's not related.
Because they are engineers and the smartest ones. Maybe if they set it to 5mph it would have been better and forced action, but what do ordinary people know.
I'm an engineer, but..... engineers are human and also screw up from time to time. The only time you're not screwing up is when you're not doing anything.
If I were calling the shots I wouldn't let the driver be able to take the car out of park if the "frunk" were not properly latched. We don't need to go back to the days of "suicide frunks and doors". I've called GM and have asked them what was the thinking behind their "82 mph" open frunk speed limit. I'll post the answer if/when I get it.
Dealer confirmed that new hinges are in stock at chevy warehouse. The car is scheduled to go to the body shop on Monday. The repairs are to be covered under warranty. No mention of a fix for the release issue.

So what is the issue? For them to come up with a fix, they first have to figure out the issue. Did the hatch release because of a software malfunctioning (if so, I'm going to tape my hatch down....) or did you accidentally (1) leave the hatch open, (2) pull the cord next to the brake pad or (3) hit the switch on your key fob or on the driver side door?

Interesting... if they're covering it under warranty then that implies a defect; or could be using "good will" option at the dealer level. If it ere user error then you'd be SOL.
Not sure how this issue did not pop up in the 4 years of testing or what ever it was. Or that no safety is in place for this not to happen.
late change to electrical system. Maybe new pathway or circuits? Never know with electronics. A weak ground or some anomoly activates something and the hood flies open in your face.
Why the hell they didnt figure out a way to have some speed limiter to next to nothing and a constant "dinging" is beyond my comprehension.
This is no joke.... I have a foam turbine powered jet that I have 100 flights on. Flies about 170 mph. The exhaust temp is around 1200 F. Here's a link to a video...
$2500 ready to fly. You need a special waiver to fly one if you want to be insured.
Not bad. If it crashes from any kind of altitude is it toast or do the foam wings etc absorb most of the impact? Hard to fly and any restrictions on where can you fly it from?
