^^ I think it did it once to me over 3 years. Turn off, restart problem gone. hat do you expect anymore with everything being run by programs designed by children. Just a bug - better known as a series of events/keystrokes that the programmer never even considered. As a former IT professional, i used to literally used to just lean on the keyboard when my programmers used to bring me their software for initial review (testing) and watched as their chins bounced off the floor. They would say, No one would do that and I would say they just did, now jo fix it and program for every possibility, not just the 4 you think they will choose!
And integration tests. All through automation. Of course it's up to management to push for those. They take longer to put in place but they can catch bugs at build/deploy time.
So a weird one today. Got in the car, started it up and everything seemed normal. BUT, the audio info was not on the main screen. The word "audio" was on the screen but no information below it. First time I've seen this. All the other modes showed up but not the audio. The touchscreen acted normally.
I drove the car a while then stopped and did some shopping. Came back to start it up and still no audio info. Then after about 30 seconds the info appeared again.
Some kind of communication issue between the touch screen and the main screen I imagine.

Next time it happens shut the car off, open the driver door and leave it open for more than a minute (can't be less than a minute). This resets the computers cache and may resolve the issue.
Thnx for the update...I just picked up new 2023 2LT Z51 TR Coupe From Macmulkin yesterday in New Hampshire ...Macmulkin allowed me to put car up on the lift to inspect and photograph the entire underside, and I went through the check list that was published here last week and the car was flawless ...I drove the car down to Long Island (200 mile maden voyage)...the car performed flawlessly with no issues...Thank You Todd and the sales team at Macmulkin and Chevrolet for getting this car right...The Car is amazing and there is no doubt in my mind that you cannot buy a better built American sports car at any price...thank you Chevrolet
I started having starting issues with my 2022 Z51 around 5,000 miles. I would push start, all electronics would turn on but the vehicle would act like it wasn’t in park to start. I have to remove a battery cable and reset the whole car before it’ll start again. This happens sometimes twice a day. Long story short, a week in the shop and they said a switch inside the transmission is bad and the whole transmission has to be replaced but they’re all backordered.
I guess I’m posting here cause a quick review of the 12 pages of this sticky didn’t pull up anything similar and I wanted to post the quick fix for someone in case they were in a bind and didn’t want to wait on a tow truck. Unfortunately there’s no telling when the new tranmsion will be in is what I’m told so now I have to cross my fingers that it starts anytime I valet cause it’s pretty embarrassing to have valet come to you and say it’s not starting.

Good to hear and congrats!
Did you actually measure the gaps around the headlights during your inspection and were they in spec? Should be 0.5mm gap around entire headlight...
So, let's say you are at MM taking delivery and the car does not pass this checklist, what do you do?
I would have the problems documented with their Service Dept and if they cannot be corrected that same day then have them setup a time to come back in to resolve any problems found....

Did you use this updated checklist below?
Gap around headlights - I would just run a business card around the lights. If it slips around fairly easily you will be OK and its very quick to do, if its tight in spots you may still be OK but can check more closely.
FWIW - most business cards are about 60% of that 0.5 mm.
Yes thats exactly what I did...I used a paper business card and ran it around the gaps...I wasn't overly concerned with the actual measurement but more concerned about the uniformity and overall appearance of the gaps .....and I used the check list posted by DAVE68 (Thnx for re-posting it). Macmulkin had a Corvette tech available on Sunday when I Picked up the car so if any minor issues were found I probably would have asked them to correct it before taking possession...but weather is always a concern in NH this time of the year so I just wanted to get the car home to Long Island...and so if there were any other issues I would have had their Corvette Tech document it than have it corrected on Long Island...Also wanted to give a shout out to Race Ready Panels...they did a custom engine cover that came out fantastic (see below) and their customer support was top notch ...ask for William...they have the entire GM C8 color pallette and will mix and match anything you want

That's pretty much what I intended to use as a guide when I do my inspection..
Screen glitch after most recent update. I am driving in my garage and this is how it looks. It was completely black after turning on/off car multiple times. I turned on Z mode to see if it would get the dash to turn on and got get this to come up but then it wouldn’t go away. Driving, reverse, parking, trying a bunch of **** in the touchscreen menu but nothing worked. Was worried I was gonna have to drive for my thanksgiving plans with no speedometer, “sorry officer I REALLY don’t know how fast I’m going”
What worked was fully turning car off, and walking away with fob. Just turning off and even walking around the car wasn’t enough. You need fully off. My next step was gonna be to pop the battery.

We did not have OTAs before and cars were fine. How many problems do our regular computers and/or phones incur due to unforeseen bugs in updates? I suggest keeping the updates off and only allow them to happen while car is in for service at the dealer's. At least if something goes wrong there they can take care of it.

If this happens again, try this to erase the car/computer cache. Start the car. Shut the car off. Then open the drivers side door for 90 seconds (and you have to have it open for no less than 90 seconds). Close door, start the car and the computer cache has now been reset. Watch the video using the link below at the 1:44:46 mark.

What this does is to clear out the computers cache and hopefully correct the problem.
I really hope I remember this when the electronics in the car I don't have yet act up. I've read about it solving a lot of problems.

Those cool carbon fiber key covers?? My screen went blank on a road trip and while driving a message came up about key fob which was in my pocket. I immediately removed the key fob cover. Eventually stopped and after a while car reset itself.
never put key fob cover back on and it has not done it again. It’s a bit disconcerting driving with everything dark. Probably a good idea to rehearse how to disconnect battery and have necessary tools on hand.
Greetings everyone. I'm new to corvette ownership and to this forum. I apologize for the length post but I'm at my wits end with my new corvette and am desperately looking for any direction / commiseration I can get.
I took delivery of my first ever corvette (23 stingray) from MacMulkin about 6 weeks ago. Everything was fine until about 800 miles when I went to drive home from dinner. I started my corvette and the CEL started flashing and the Traction Control Light came on. OnStar sent me a text to service my Transmission, but the error code read Random Cylinder Misfires. Stopping and restarting (with a few minutes in-between) did nothing to help, and I limped it home with a very rough idle and an angry engine. My air intake fans were running even after shutting the car off.
When I went to take it to the dealer (1st visit) the next morning, the car drove fine. The CEL light was on but not flashing, and the Traction Control Light was gone. The dealer spent the next day driving it, and unsuccessfully trying to replicate the incident. Essentially nothing was done to the Corvette and it was chalked up as a random one time electronic gremlin.
When I got it back, it drove fine for a few days and then it happened again. Identical scenario - Went to start it and was met with a flashing CEL, Traction Control Light, and Misfire Codes. Again, I could not fix with several timed restarts and limped it home with an angry engine. By the time I drove it back to the dealer the next day (2nd visit), the issue was gone and the car drove fine and only had a non flashing CEL. Once again, the dealer couldn't reproduce the issue despite keeping it for a few days to drive... but this time they decided to re-position some wires in the wiring harness.
A few days after pricing it up from the dealer, same issue happened to me again leaving Autozone. I brought it to the dealer for a 3rd time. They replaced the ECU and were confident that the issue is resolved
The car drove fine for two weeks and I really started to believe that with the new ECU, it was all behind me. Then, on a road trip to the Back of the Dragon of all places, it did the same thing when trying to leave the gift shop. Flashing CEL, Traction Control Light, and Misfire Codes. I limped it over to the hotel and let it sit overnight. The next morning it was fine, and I drove it home without any issues.
I love the car and my preference would be to keep it, but at this point i'm starting to wonder if I need to start a GM Buyback / Lemon Law type thing. Any advice is much appreciated.

Yikes! I hope you have everything documented. I don't know where you live so any advice about lemon laws might be incorrect. I would give your dealer another chance. You should probably research the lemon laws in your state as well. Hope you can get this resolved. The C8 is a great car. Good luck!!
