Yes....that's normal on all GM vehicles until you open the driver's door.

I have noticed two or three times the following.
  1. Key Off
  2. Infotainment stays on as designed (normal)
  3. Open Door
  4. Infotainment stays on (not normal)
  5. Close Door
  6. Infotainment stays on (not normal)
  7. Open Door
  8. Close Door
  9. Open Door
  10. Start C8
  11. Close Door
  12. Key Off
  13. Open Door
  14. Close Door
  15. Wait
  16. Infotainment eventually goes off.
Each of the times this has occurred, I received a notice that "An Update Is Available" with the next key on / key off cycle.

I only initiate updates (in any of my GM cars) when the car is safely parked on my driveway. As a practice, I will NEVER initiate an update in a parking lot, or anywhere else I don't want to be stranded.

Anyway, the "infotainment stays on" behavior seems to go away after the update. Maybe just coincidence.

I set this feature on my 2023 (picked up at the end of July 2022). They return to normal position when parking or switching to drive as expected.

But, I am not completely bought in to the feature as then tend to tilt too low IMO.

All new cars have something that needs adjustment. The dealer/store will fix it---- we hope.

Quirk with infotainment system. Drove it for 30 min. Parked for a bit and on restart the infotainment system reset itself to factory settings.

I had to accept terms, reload apps and rearrange the icons to my likings.

No update installed AFAIK. Strange.

I just had something happen that has been reported here before. I started the car and the the infotainment screen was blank. Tried several things on the drive home to get it to turn back on but nothing worked. I got home, shut off the car then started it again (still dark), then turned the car off and left the driver's door open for a while (I think you have to leave it open at least 90 seconds). The next time I started the car everything was back to normal. Computers - if all else fails, reboot (or, in this case, clear the cache/comm channels).

I've posted this a few times before but worth another post.

Do this to erase the car/computer cache. Start the car. Shut the car off. Then open the drivers side door for 90 seconds (and you have to have it open for no less than 90 seconds). Close door, start the car and the computer cache has now been reset. Watch the video using the link below at the 1:44:46 mark.

What this does is to clear out the computers cache and hopefully correct the problem.

Weird issue today. While waiting for the touchless car wash I had been waiting about 15 mins. Move forward about 20ft and the horn started blaring. Would not stop. I put in park, I put back in drive. Nothing. I turned the car off and back on and didn't seem to do anything. I turned it off and opened the door and it turned off within 5 seconds. Turned it back on and it was fine. Car only has about 180 miles on it. Anyone had this happen? Was it mad at me for idling while waiting in line? Thanks

Now at home about 45 mins later the horn just randomly started going off in the garage. I used the remote to lock and unlock it and it didn't stop. I turned the car on and about 5 seconds later the horn stopped.

I searched above for information on the issue for 30 mins and gave up after I couldnt find anything as the thread seems to be saturated with mostly bitching...

Maybe you were sitting on the FOB, it has an alarm button.
Otherwise, maybe the switch in the wheel has an issue. Try pressing on it several times.

Yeah now it seems to be randomly going off. I had the FOB in front of me. I honked the horn a few times to see if that helps. I have never used the horn before that. I also lowered the tire pressures as I saw some mention of that being high possibly causing an issue. Seems it came from dealer at 35ish and should be 29. I also just put it on the tender and its showing the battery being on the lower end which I find odd considering I drove it today. The FOB also didnt seem to want to open the frunk.

Just some odd stuff in general

I've owned my C8 about two months now. The first five weeks, my alarm horn went off on its own several times. I did get an OnStar notification that the alarm went off due to the door or trunks being ajar but, when I checked, everything was closed properly … and the car had shut down with no warnings about anything being open. In my case, I was able to stop the horn by unlocking with the fob. After ten minutes, it times out on its own anyway. About three weeks ago I decided to try a computer reset. Shut the car off, opened the driver's door for 90 seconds, closed the door, then restarted the car. It hasn’t done it since. Not completely confident that the problem has gone away, but good so far. If it does it again, it'll go the the dealer to see if they can figure it out. My suspicion is that it may be an intermittent alarm sensor. It was getting to the point that I was afraid to lock the car.

Thanks for the advice!!!

I havent been locking the car, just seems random and goes away randomly also. No consistency in what I do to make it stop and once it just seemed to stop by itself after 10ish seconds. This is also a steady horn noise, not alarm like. I will keep the computer reset in mind!!

That's different, but still try doing that very simple computer reset. It seems like nothing, but it has cleared up a lot of these weird anomalies for other owners.

You have two fobs right? Take your usual fob and stash it at home and use the other fob. See if that makes a difference. Sounds like that fob might be buggered.

I will try that too. Horn hasn't gone off in a few hours. I am hoping something I tried earlier worked

Horn didnt go off at all since. I have now taken it off the tender and closed the frunk to see if if happens with those off/shut. The primary FOB would still not open the frunk. I went and got the second FOB and it opened the frunk exactly once. Never worked again. Trunk opens fine and all other actions work fine on both FOBs. Using the button to open the frunk under the bumper works fine. I tried the computer reset, no change. Not sure what to do next so I guess maybe a trip to MM.

Just to double check. When you try to open the frunk with the fob are you doing 2 button pushes, with the last one lingering?

mine is in the shop now for:
1. my PDR SD Card intermittently works. It shows up as available, then as missing, back to available, then as missing, etc...
2. wrinkled/loose leather on my passenger seat
3. mis-aligned ground effect on driver's side (dealership issue)
4. missing black lug nuts (dealership issue)
