Hopefully mine is just a fluke and they will get it repaired soon.

Brickhead.....I sent you a PM, so glad someone else can see the same dimples, there's 10, 5 on each side if you didn't count, not sure if you've noticed the crease under each mirror. My C8 is also Red Mist but these issues are not color related, same issues are on every C8 I've looked at regardless of color. If I asked the dealer to correct the problems they would probably do more damage than it's worth. One would think GM would have noticed these before production.

like was already mentioned every one of then have it. Its some type of mold issue (probably by design).

Some colors and lighting make it more noticeable.

What sucks about it is once you see it on your own car you ALWAYS see it.

But its completely normal.

19/C7Z..... You think it's normal for a 85K-90K car to have a bump every 5 inches or so on the front bumper cover that's supposed to be perfectly flat, it's normal to have an obvious wave / crease under each mirror on each door. I don't accept this theory, I think every owner that is bothered by this should bring it to the attention of their dealer, I did! It is plain and simple poor quality in the design and production process, and please don't tell me to sell my car if I don't like it. I never would have purchased it if I was aware of these flaws. These are obvious and external, what's hidden we can't see? True or false, my dealer tells me the factory is aware of these issues and are working on a remedy....I seriously doubt that, but they're going to disregard until enough complain about the issue. My only regret is that I sold a beautiful, flawless, quality built Lexus LC500 to purchase this.....lesson learned.
BTW....it's bad that I am afraid to accept the latest OTA, my first OTA at 108 miles, 3 weeks after delivery, failed and killed everything on the car; this wasn't a battery issue and the car had to be towed 60 miles so the dealer could complete the update...yeah, that's quality.

Not to make light of your situation, and I'm truly sorry you are going through these issues, but the "bad apple in every bunch" analogy holds true here (not you personally - your car). I've had my C8 since 9/14. It's TR and I intentionally took it out in the sun after reading about this the first time and saw absolutely nothing on the car. I took it to a very reputable local body shop where a friend works to show it to him. Everybody in the shop at the time came out to see it and I told them about your post. That got the painters there very interested because when they spray cars they want them to look better than new cars. They didn't see anything either.

I'm at a little over 800 miles and the only blip I've had was a "Parking Assist Blocked. See Owner's Manual" flashed up on the right side of the gauges yesterday and then it went off. I got to my destination and the parking assist was working just fine.

I think you got a bad apple.

Thanks....I'm not doubting what you're saying....I took delivery of my Red Mist C8 in May 21, I noticed these issues about a month later. I took it to the dealer and the dealer looked at every C8, either waiting delivery or for sale; every C8 had the same issues, though not as apparent on lighter colors. Maybe yours's has a later or earlier build date. I'm glad it's not an issue on your car. Maybe I'm just too **** to own this car, dings, scratches, any imperfection on my truck, cars, motorcycle just drives me crazy. Have a great day, weather is beautiful in NC.

I hear ya! My car was built on 9/7/21. I've been OCD about my cars since I was 16 and had my first one. My Mom used to tell people they could find me in the driveway washing my car.

I hope you avoid the next five days of rain we are getting in west Georgia.

I have a '21 SGM and after delivery I found a shallow dimple on the hood. Took it to the the dealer and submitted a claim, and it was denied by GM; they said it was my fault (dent on a composite panel). I had that section of the hood repainted and it was a dimple in the paint, a low spot in the primer. Later on, I saw the vertical line under the passenger mirror and looks like the same issue.

Many or most C8's have the under the mirror problem and your dealer is not going to do anything about it.

I concur. After reading this I’ve looked at my RB 21 HTC under various lights from many angles and don’t have the flawed characteristics as described.

Do you see any evidence of bond-line read-through (transference of the bond path through the exterior body panel to the show surface)?

These are some problematic areas:

Guys....Pls excuse me for being so repetitive, this is NOT-NOT a paint issue. Reference the dimples on the front bumper cover it is simply the flexible / pliable front cover laying on, conforming to something under the cover near the front edge that is pushing it outward, 1 in from the front edge front edge in 10 spots going around the entire bumper. For the door issue under each mirror, it is either a door molding issue or possibly something pulling inward on the panel, possibly the mirror mount, I don't know. I so wish I could capture these in a pic but its too many reflections. To verify this please call Trevor or Milos, Salesman, Manager respectfully at Hendrick Chevrolet in Raleigh NC, they have verified these issues on MULTIPLE cars

Checked again and I realize it’s not a paint issue. Sorry, still no probs.

Dang it, dealer just called and said my tranny is leaking. They are going to drop it and see if it's an easy fix. if not, they said 4-6 weeks for a new tranny...

They should be able to determine if it is an easy fix without dropping the transaxle. I'd ask them to determine the source of leakage without dropping the transaxle and then give the car back to you (unless it can be easily fixed) and drive it until the parts come in (assuming it is a small leak). A slow leak shouldn't cause any long term problems - a bad leak is a different story. A 4-6 week wait for parts is unacceptable. They probably don't want their lift tied-up that long any more than you want to be without the car.

did I miss how many miles are on it and why you had it in for service where they noticed the tran leak?

The service guy said they were instructed to replace the whole tranny even if it is a small leak. not sure how true that is.
