I think you’ll be chasing a rainbow. A lot of these issues can come and go depending on supplier quality, manufacturing processes, material issues, employee turnover, etc, What’s fixed by Oct may just be the beginning of a separate issue.

6” seems like an exaggeration, the window is barely that tall. It does slope down some towards the cabin but for there to be 6” of standing water the car would have to be parked on a 45 degree decline in my opinion. When I washed my car the first time it was nothing seemed concerning to me. Maybe a half inch - tops. My drying towel took care of it easily.

1115 miles on the odometer. Not a single issue to report. More smiles, pics and questions about it than I would have ever imagined.

"Someone" told you something that wasn't true. I've driven mine in the rain, washed it, and I haven't noted any pooling beyond what I would expect.

I drove through a heavy downpour and noticed maybe an inch of water pooled up against the window. I’m not sure how long it took to drain out, it was gone when I got to my destination. I mostly thought it was amusing since it does look rather strange. When washing the car it eventually drains out or is easily soaked up with a towel.

I have a 2021 Red Mist delivered in May 21. I've posted about this before but the more I look at it the more disappointed I get. This is all related to the front bumper and doors; something is causing a 3-4 inch crease in both door shells just below each mirror, and something is pushing outward in 10 spots on the front bumper cover. Please, I cannot post pics of these reflections, I've tried many times, rather than crucifying me about not posting pics, just go look at yours; I'm sure you will see the same issues. Every C8 that I've looked at has the same issues. For the door issue It's either the molding process or something in the manufacturing process that's causing something to pull inward causing a crease on the left and right door just below the mirror; especially noticeable on dark colors. Also, I can see what appears to be 10 bolt heads, rivet's or something along the top edge of the front bumper cover pushing outward on the cover causing high spot dimples to appear in the paint. There are other examples too...really disappointing in a 85K car. To see the creases below the mirrors look forward from the back along the bottom of each mirror, for the front bumper issue, stand to the side and look about 1 inch from the front top edge and about 5 inches between each bolt/rivet. Hopefully someone from GM reviews these messages and will take some sort of corrective action. My GM Dealer is aware, noticed the same and "supposedly" notified the district rep.

Yeah....some will tell me to just get it repaired by the dealer but I'm not crazy about having the door panels and bumper covers removed.

These are not simple surface quality issues, to me, these are major cosmetic issues that must be corrected.

RT82, I just read your post and this really sucks, especially, like you said, on a car of this price! As a person who is waiting in line to place an order, I'm certainly concerned when I hear of issues like this. I wouldn't even begin to guess how to get these things corrected and if the car would ever be satisfactory for you. I appreciate the "heads up" on this.

Did the water get into your shock towers?

I have some damage to the SMC of the rear hatch in my coupe.
I originally thought this might be hitting something from underneath, but nothing comes close to touching any of these areas.

The SMC is crumbled on the edge and it looks like whatever hit it there continued on and dinged the SMC further away. It's not a paint chip, it's a depression where the SMC was crushed.
There are also two places where the black paint was knocked loose. This was likely done at the factory, or it happened during delivery or PDI. 100% positive this didn't happen from anything I did.

I am wondering if this happened because of the way they had their jig setup when they were painting the rear hatch? or when they stored/moved the hatch parts around? You might check yours for damage in that same area. I am going to apply some black touch up paint and call it good.

This is really hard to photography. Small bubbles in clear in about 1" long on the drivers side nacelle. Dealer offered to respray or wet sand. Declined and had my detailer (for the paint correction, ceramic and PPF) do as much (or little) to reduce while preserving clear. This is after his work. It appears as a blur in the red portion of the flag in the pics. Looks more like severe orange peel in person. Hard to say what caused it. Looks like from the gun for clear? FYI color is SGM.

Same here. I’ve took mine out in the bright sunlight and can’t find anything that remotely resembles what he is describing. I have friends who own a body shop and took it by there to let them see it today. I asked them to look at it and they saw nothing to criticize.

No. I put the AOR covers on them. Mine is a 2021 so the passenger side never had any water in the shock tower since the cowling drain holes are no longer there. My drivers side had water in it from the factory, that’s why I put the covers on.

Grey.... Respectfully, I bet if you look at different angles while moving your head to reflect light yours has the same issues. EVERY car I've looked at on drealer lots, parked in store lots, outside of business's etc... have the same issues. The front bumper cover protrusions are not as obvious as door creases. I would be amazed if your car didn't have the same.

---EDITED---
This crease you mention -- horizontal or vertical? I have a SGM and absolutely nothing on driver side visible under bright LED lighting. Passenger side has a bit of a vertical "wave" that is visible below mirror and is approx 5 inches top to bottom. Very hard to see unless you concentrate on the surface from back to front very intently.

Crease is vertical on both doors, once I pointed this out to the dealer he saw it right away. His comment ......"we've delivered 175 C8s and never noticed that before". He also looked at all other C8s on his lot, they all had the same issue; that's why he had the district rep look at it. No clue what he did about the issue. If you can't see it on your car don't worry about it, if you can see it and it doesn't bother you it's a non-issue for you. Also, if the front bumper protrusions are noticeably there, how would I know how many bolts/rivets are are on the front edge under the bumper cover? If anyone has a service manual please look, there is about 5 inches between each dimple.

I have 2021 HTC that is in the shop for the second time because when the top is up/closed it is not clearing the "top secure" sensor. It still indicates the top is not secure even though it has latched. It wouldn't be a problem but it limits the top speed of the car to 58MPH. Everything works fine when the top is down. Has anyone else experienced this issue? They are waiting on a part from GM but this is the second time this has occurred within two months and the car has been in the shop for this issue a total of six weeks as of today.

When I took delivery of my 2021 Red Mist HTC about 6 weeks ago I noticed some dimples along the front edge of the panel right below the hood. As I have extensive bodywork and paint experience I knew it was a factory problem that most people would not notice or even look for. Most people don't know the difference between orange peel, and a flat, cut and buffed paint job. Any painter worth a crap would be horrified if you showed up with a new corvette paint job and tried to call it show-worthy.
