I started a thread for this very reason, and most of the posters disagreed with me.
GM needs to take the C8 and follow the strategy of the Porsche 911. Make subtle change on the appearance while improving the car. Every time Chevy gets close to fixing all the bugs, they introduce a new generation with a list of new issues. The C8 is far too complicated for the average weekend mechanic, which is another reason for GM to stick with C8 design and just keep improving it.
I just found out that my 2023 no longer has a key cylinder for the hatch. A bad battery is not what I’m worried about, but rather the solenoid that unlocks it, taking a crap. Then what?
I had the actuator for the gas cover go out on my C7 while I was sitting at a gas station. I had 1/4 tank left so I drove it straight to the dealer and had it repaired under my extended warranty. I still bought a C8. Not being able to open a trunk wouldn't worry me nearly as much.

except if you unfortunately had a fire in the engine bay.
You have to think of everything because the engineers aren’t….

If I had a fire in the engine bay that got to the point that the normal trunk opening procedures didn't work I wouldn't be fiddling around with the license plate and the funky key to get the trunk open...

After all the hard work from Tadge to haul them in you just wave goodbye.
I have no patience for those that have no intention of buying a C8 but continue to post unrelated items in a thread that is about C8 owners with issues, asking for assistance from other Corvette owners. If you can't help, then move on please. And if you are a C8 owner that decides to leave the platform, tell us how great other vehicles are then so be it. I wish you all the best.

I agree...
I found the forum "Ignore List" feature in "Control Panel" works well in these cases!

This isn't the only thread this person is trolling. I will never understand people who do this kind of thing. They are a sad lot in life.

I believe it was on track until you started inviting people to leave as if it were your house to begin.
I'm here not to particularly sing praises but to investigate the known flaws of the C8 before purchasing. What I'm finding has resulted in it not being my first choice but it is not totally unconsidered.
I will continue to investigate if that is okay with you and your posse of adherents. Is that okay with you?

It's not my house. But when someone says they cancelled their order, I wave .
When someone says goodbye Chevy, I wave .
No one is making anyone visit this forum. You can go and leave as you please. If you want to continue investigating the C8 go right ahead and do so. But please, let's try to keep threads on topic. This thread is about C8 owners posting their problems looking for solutions from other Corvette owners. Create your own thread if it isn't pertinent to the thread at hand.
I think the definition of a troll in a forum like this is people who constantly dispute others without a shred of real life experience. I joined this thread before I purchased my C8 to get a feel for problems I might encounter with the C8 and quickly realized the problems that were posted represented a very small percentage of owners. I now have 16 months of trouble free enjoyment out of my C8.
I never quoted someone with a problem and denounced the C8, Chevrolet, or GM’s quality.
To be fair, I did buy my C6 and did not peruse that forum here before I bought it. My mistake. If you read that forum you’ll see there are a lot of posts from some very talented mechanics. I’m not a talented mechanic and unfortunately my C6 was a maintenance nightmare - but I know the problems I had with it were recognized by Chevrolet through service bulletins. I researched that as well. I have posted that car was a nightmare but can acknowledge it wasn’t the norm.
It’s absolutely fine IMHO to research a possible Corvette purchase here but don’t denounce what you don’t own. Simply make a mental note and scroll on by.

I got the wave for simply removing my name from a list when I was next for an allocation. I'm here interacting with people who have problems, next thing I know you're inviting me to leave with your waving emoji. That's when things went off track.

Your tenacity and patience is appreciated in dealing with this. This is a valuable thread.
Thank You, and returning to the originally scheduled program….
I agree with Consumer Reports! “We can’t recommend the new Corvette because of its inconsistent reliability history,” Consumer Reports concluded.
Here's the latest Consumer Reports rating:
”For the first time since the C8 arrived for the 2020 model year, Consumer Reports has given the Vette a “recommended” rating. This new high for the Corvette comes on the back of a few different scores:
Owner satisfaction rating – 5/5
Road test rating – 97/100
Predicated reliability rating – 3/5
Overall score – 87
An overall score of 87 ranks the 2023 Corvette first in CR’s sports/sporty cars over $40,000 segment. This places the C8 above the likes of the 2023 Toyota Supra, the 2023 Porsche 718 Boxster, and the BMW 2 series.”

A 60% reliably rating is what it’s all about, unless you never drive the car! Just saying 2 transmission replacements in 15,000 mikes is not what anyone expects from the Corvette “Experience”.
