@Stangslayer Man that totally sucks, I would be soooo disappointed... Ive even had issues with getting a simple oil change with my car. Chevy should really do more with nationwide training for any tech working on these. It's the reason (I think) some talk about Corvette becoming a stand-alone brand. I hope they get your car fixed quickly and for good this time. Really sucks man...

I can't even get my first 500 break-in miles on mine. It's at the dealer for the second time with a recurring check engine light for code P2254 02 sensor issue. Came on at 40 miles and again at 280. They think it's a bad connector and are overnighting a new one. Very frustrating and not how I wanted to start my ownership experience.

There is a very simple way to check connections without ordering, waiting for and replacing a connector. GMs procedures have too many built in wait times and for what, not the customer experience that's for sure.

I cancelled my order.

Every manufacturer has issues with the supply chain now. It's not just the auto industry. There are 10.5 million job openings in the U.S. now - only .09% less than its peak in March 2022. Unemployment was at 3.5% at the end of 2022, though that number may be a bit misleading due to the fact that holiday employment artificially inflates employment numbers at the end of every year. GM and its suppliers are certainly impacted by this as are the logistics companies that move goods. Having said this, there were still 5,700,000 people in this country drawing unemployment in December 2022. That would only fill half of the open jobs. It's not as simple as some people seem to think it is.

Probably the correct thing to do. When they work, they are a blast to drive. When they don’t it’s a nightmare to get fixed. I’ll be selling mine as soon as it gets fixed. Not worth the hassles.
looking at a 440i or S5. I’m done with Corvettes and the Chevrolet “experience”.

Things have a habit of working out so I hope they get you fixed up right away.

Their dealer network at least in my area is adequate most of the time to work on a Tahoe but I'd be grinding my teeth while they fiddle with my Vette. I think it's worse with the cutbacks and trouble finding good help.

I'll be looking at the Cayman so made a few calls and it didn't sound bad as far as wait time.

at least I have service through Hendrick’s Chevrolet. They do know Corvettes, but GM gets in their way of fixing them.
Note to GM, it’s only another Chevy, get out of the way and let them service the car.

Stang...hang in there man ...we feel your pain.....Cant imagine the frustration and disapointment... dont go over to the dark side yet....give it 1 more go around...and/or perhaps consider invoking the Lemon law if possible and have the dealer buy it back ...and grab another allocation....it will be worth it once you get past this phase...not sure if Tadge is monitoring this link but maybe he can step in?

Default Check engine light at 460 miles

I've had my 2023 C8 for a little over a week. I picked it up in Moreno Valley, CA., and drove it to my home in Las Vegas, NV. A few days later I started the car and I heard a tapping sound, the engine started missing really bad and the check engine light came on. I'm still waiting for Chev to figure out what the problem is. So far I'm not happy with this vehicle. A good friend in Florida called today saying he was looking at a new C8. I told him about the problem I'm having and he walked out of the dealership.

With all due respect. If I decided not to get a car because of a problem someone said they had with a car I would never own one. Most all cars have some issues in once sense or another. Heck, my 2020 Honda Pilot has given me more problems then all of my other cars combined.

Now to your problem. Could be a simple injector gone bad. Get it to a dealer and have them check it out.

I have had many vehicles over the last 40 years, not one of them had mechanical issues when new. And people do listen to the experiences of friends&family

I have no faith in the Tremec transmission. I drive my cars and do not need this frustration of when and where I will be stranded again. I have no respect for GM as they know of the problems and yet have never ever contacted me. Too many other choices out there to put up with this nonsense.

Not many choices for mid engine high power targa/convertible under $100K. Isn't it just 2? Boxer or C8?

Who needs a mid-engine car for street use and Hp isn’t everything. There are 4 German vehicles that fit the bill. Goodbye Chevy!

I started a thread for this very reason, and most of the posters disagreed with me.

GM needs to take the C8 and follow the strategy of the Porsche 911. Make subtle change on the appearance while improving the car. Every time Chevy gets close to fixing all the bugs, they introduce a new generation with a list of new issues. The C8 is far too complicated for the average weekend mechanic, which is another reason for GM to stick with C8 design and just keep improving it.

I just found out that my 2023 no longer has a key cylinder for the hatch. A bad battery is not what I’m worried about, but rather the solenoid that unlocks it, taking a crap. Then what?

Isn't the procedure to get a hole saw and drill your way in? Who could possibly call this acceptable.
