Default That's GM original warranty + 7 years or total 7 years?

I think it makes sense to wait till towards the end of the original warranty and then get extended. Also isn't the transmission considered powertrain thus covered till 5 years?

The ONLY bumper-to-bumper plan GM offers is the 2 year extension at time of purchase, Your 7 year plan IS NOT a bumper to bumper plan. It has many exclusions and is called a GM Protection Plan (GMPP). BTW, I paid $1429 for my 7 year Platinum, zero deductible GMPP.

I understand the availability varies per state. The GM bumper to bumper was not avail for me in FL when I bought in 2021.

Congrats on the excellent price you got!!! I bought my C8 from Ciocca in Atlantic City and my 7yr warranty is bumper to bumper with a $50 deductible. I am 100% certain it is. We read over the details as well as spoke to several folks on the contract. Perhaps your $1429 7yr is not the same as the $2100 7yr warranty I have. I could have spent. $2000 and even $1900 on a different warranty with the deductible going up $50 to $100 and so forth. They had more options to chose from with different levels of warranty but 1 thing I know for certain is I am covered for 7yr or 60k or 70k miles, I’ll check later. Also the 3yr 36k is “limited warranty” and your bumper to bumper is only 1yr. The next 2 yrs “limited” and it does not cover anything that can not be proven is GMs fault. I will post more later and perhaps the contract or literature to what I have. Hope you have a good sense of humor but they say you get what you pay for soooo $1429 🤔. Just kidding but good luck folks. I will post more maybe images later.

You are correct my good man. It’s different in all states and GM doesn’t even really cover the extended warranty. Private companies do but it’s honored at all Chevy dealers.

There is no other plan. Ciocca, as with other dealers, inflates the cost of the plan. Your plan probably would have cost me +/- $1300. As others will chime in to verify it IS Not a bumper to bumper plan.

Assuming the plan you purchased is the Chevrolet Platinum Protection Plan it has exclusions (trim, lights, paint, convertible top components, etc.) that are covered under the 3 year Bumper to Bumper warranty. Look at the exclusions section.

Default C8 Problems?

Is an insurance plan really a C8 "problem"? Thought this thread was for issues with the C8 !

If it's the GMPP, GM Protection Plan, then it's the one I have but mine's Platinum w/ 0$ deductible. It ran me $1429 for a 84 month, 56K mile plan. It's the next best thing to a B2B warranty.

FWIW, engine light went on. Code P12E9, they found the left exhaust flow control valve cylinder deactivation was out of specifications. They performed a reset and the issue was resolved.

Default Dodged the Bullet

2023 CMG HTC 3LT MSRC Lift RC8 delivery on 09/13/23, now 5006 miles.

My bride noticed the pictured fluid drips (under right rear axle) on the garage floor two nights ago. I took it to Stephen Wade Chevrolet yesterday morning (the only dealer in Saint George, UT) yesterday morning around 10:30. The Service Advisor told me that, without an appointment, I was in line for their only Corvette Tech for at least a week to ten days. I replied that was a “disappointing outlook.” He responded that he would “do his best” to accelerate the timeline. I was not feeling well so I elected to leave the car at the dealership.

Much to my surprise, around 10:00 this morning the Service Advisor notified me via text that my C8 was ready for pickup. The diagnosis (after removing the”Rear Cradle Shear Plate”) was the “Transmission Fluid Filter Seal” leaking oil. The fix was replacement of the Transmission Fluid Filter (24045729), top off the Transmission Fluid (19418016) and clean up the leaked oil (also replace the Shear Plate). The warranty covered it, except my time and inconvenience.

Of course, I wish it had not happened. But, compared with the nightmare possibilities, I am a happy camper. Kudos to Stephen Wade Chevrolet and to GM for a great car.

PS, I am feeling healthier today.

.
Good to hear it was a simple fix, probably took very little time to correct as well.
I doubt they "replaced" the shear plate, as it's unpainted and probably not affected by DCTF in any way. Probably just wiped it off and then re-installed it.
Keep an eye on it though. It can sometimes take a while for the oil leaking to show up again and a common place for porosity related leaks is in the deep area just behind the left output shaft and it tends to run down the side of the DCT in the area of the filter. The oil on your garage floor is also on the opposite side of the car from the DCT cannister filter. Suppose it could be running along the shear plate to that area though.

In my poor description, I should have said they cleaned and replaced the Shear Plate they removed. Thank you for your advice regarding the location of the filter. Yes, I will be certain to monitor the area. I deeply appreciate your advice and the tremendous knowledge base of this forum.
