But it needed an alignment. The cost was $250 which seems really high.
$250 is about right an alignment in my area (NY). My local sub-human thief, oh wait I mean dealership, wanted $750 for an alignment that I didn't need.
The not so local dealer I now use for service charges either $250 or $350 (I can't remember). Note that if you have less than 7,500 miles on the car, an alignment is covered under warranty. Says so right in the warranty booklet. If the dealer gives you trouble about that, call GM and they will take care of it (they did for me).

Mine has 9600.
This is the 3rd tire to pick up a nail in the rear. These tires are nail magnets.

@Sin City with all the good luck you have had with your wide nail grabbing tires, it would be highly beneficial for you to purchase Discount Tire's Certificate for Refund and Replacement. We offer it on factory tires as well as tires you purchase from us. Then it's a free replacement for not repairable items. Just a thought.

I paid around $230 for mine. Quick inspection of tires, pay the fee, get the certificate. It's a FULL replacement, not a pro-rated BS warranty.
I just had a nail in a tire on a CX9. Tires are BFG's maxlife. Crazy 850QQ tread wear rating and tires had a ton of tread left. Shop said they only had 30% left, and made me pay 70% on a non-discounted priced tire along with mounting, balancing, etc.
When these tires wear out, I will be replacing them at Discount Tire. I am "tired" of the BS from these other companies and their useless warranty.
How is the DCT in C8 for '23 and 22 MY? any major problems?
As far as we know, the DCT is the same. No design changes since the oil pan was revised.
The Z06 has a magnesium casing vs aluminum (supposedly), and also has different gear ratios. Those are the only changes I have heard about. Anyone?
It is also anticipated that the E-Ray has some changes to the DCT to enable stealthmode where the parking pawl is retracted somehow which is not possible on the current DCT M1L design.
This morning, I tried to open the door of my '23 C8 and found the door release unresponsive. Fast-forward a few minutes, and sure enough, my multimeter verified the battery was down to ~9V. I got the car in December, it's got around 2500 miles on it, is driven daily, and was last driven last night about 11 hours before I found it dead this morning. I don't recall the car taking longer to start last night, or any other symptoms for that matter, and the Chevy app on my phone reported they last heard from the car at just about the mid-point of that 11-hour period.
I jumpstarted it and drove around for about 40 minutes. Before turning off the car, I had OnStar run a couple of diagnostics that came up clean, and I checked the battery voltage through the gauge cluster (it was hovering around 14.1V to 14.2V).
One theory I have is that some process running on the computer crashed or got stuck in a loop and ran the battery down. I've noticed a few little gremlins since I got the car, such as the seat not always moving to the programmed position automatically, but just small annoyances - nothing that would cause a battery problem (like fans running for more than a few minutes after stopping the car)
I suppose the car could also have been delivered with a degraded battery. We've had our first warmish days (95 to 100 deg F) here in Phoenix/Scottsdale this past week, and that could surface any problems. That said, I'd think I'd have noticed some symptoms in that time (Phoenix pretty consistently kills batteries in 2-4 years, so you get used to paying attention). Also, after my last drive, I parked the car in a relatively cool garage for the night.
Anyone else run into this, or any recommendations on how to proceed? I could take it to the dealer, but I have a suspicion they'd end up not doing anything, probably after hanging onto the car for a day or two.

The battery should be covered under the 3 year B2B warranty but it has to test bad to be warrantied. I'm assuming you didn't try to install an OTA update - there is a known issue that these updates will sometimes cause a dead battery.

Correct. I've only received one OTA update, which I installed a few weeks ago. The only thing it said it changed was to ensure future updates could be received. In any case, no issue with the update or in the weeks since.
After a few hours, my battery seemed to be losing around 0.5V/h, and my tester had it borderline. Went ahead and took it into the dealer, and they replaced the battery under warranty in about 45 minutes. It obviously was bad from the factory.
Dealer found the front lift not working during their PDI. The lift will raise the car, but then lower it right away.
dealer has bled the system 3 times. Same behavior.
They have had the car for nearly a week and appear to be working on it periodically with assistance from GM.
I haven’t even accepted delivery of the car as it hasn’t been fully PDI’d.
I am concerned that the car will sit at the dealer (a courtesy delivery via MacMulkin). Getting info from either the CD or MacMulkin is like a chorus of crickets.
Should I and how do I elevate this with GM? Or just let this play out?
also, is the car really mine at this point? I haven’t even sat in it yet, but MacMulkin surely took my money a couple weeks ago.
Fob, door access, trunk release app none will open my rear trunk. There is no key slot behind license plate. Anyone found a way to open w/o drilling procedure I've read about

What you are describing is exactly why MacMulkin abandoned its courtesy deliveries in 2021 then reinstated that program to only certain dealers they hand picked after customers complained.
I don’t understand why MacMulkin didn’t do the PDI. Do they just redirect the car from Bowling Green to your CD after taking your money? The CD has service customers who are most likely taking priority over you.
I got my deposit back from MM in 2021 when they first abandoned courtesy deliveries. When I called to get it back they asked me why and I told them it was their new policy. A week or so later they reinstated it.
I would hope that MM would help you since they sold you the car. Good luck!

When you choose CD delivery the C8 is shipped directly from the factory...
@RedDogTim Please, for the love of everyone else, do not complain to or about Macmulkin for this. If you asked for and accepted courtesy delivery, just as I did, you waived Macmulkin of post delivery work like this. You will just get courtesy delivery options killed for everyone in the future, including you and me potentially. They don’t have the car and the car was not delivered to them. The courtesy delivery dealer is in charge of what happens with the car now, so direct any attention/complaints to them or gm directly.

... And you knowingly take your chances on getting a good CD dealer. MacMulkin tries to mitigate the chance of a bad experience but they were so castigated when they stopped their CD program that they had to reinstate it.
My CD also had some hiccups and took a few days but the alternative (cross country shipping) was not an acceptable option for me. Stop blaming MacMulkin - the choice of taking Courtesy Delivery is YOURS. MacMulkin doesn't force it on anyone and other long distance dealers don't even offer it.

Yup...I agree...MM is very clear as to how the process works so I'm not sure how anyone could be surprised here...
I had my CD from MM setup to deliver my C8 from the factory to a local dealership here in Tucson and was very pleased with the entire process which went very well....I would do it again in a heartbeat!
When you buy your car from one dealer (usually out-of-state and far away) and they have your car shipped directly from Bowling Green to a dealer local to you. That "Courtesy Dealer" performs that PDI, and handles registration, etc for a nominal fee.
