>Transmission is screwed with an F, couldn't reverse out of my driveway. Had to get it towed
>Front bumper is not aligned right, causing one side to have a noticeable uneven gap and the other side has paint peeling
>One of the headlights has peeling around it
All after sub 400 miles / 3 weeks. C8 ownership sure has been grand.

I have no faith in the C8 - myriad of problems.
Although I have not had one problem with my 2023 I am getting nervous about keeping this car long term. Especially with all the transmission and electrical issues that alot of people are having on here.

I'm expecting to take delivery of my 23 C8 in mid July. I understand that no car is perfect and as technology advances and is continued to be introduced into vehicles there will be inherent problems. As long as GM stands behind their product and dealerships are willing to assist with all the issues with the engine/trans, electronics, peeling paint, mis-aligned body panels and most of all, accessing the truck without drilling a 3" hole, I'm ok

I think over time you will realize, like I did with my 2021, that most of what you are going to see on this forum are people posting about issues. The rest of us are out enjoying our cars.

I will keep my car long term. I'll just buy an extended warranty because of all of the electronics and for peace of mind.

Not sure if I will be buying Z06 in 2 years or so, if not then for C8 Z51 is buying extended warranty just before the end of bumper to bumper warranty still the best way to go?

At those high prices of a new C8 over $100,000+ and the maintenance costs you can drive it just can't own it unless you are super rich. Rent a Corvette.

The C8 can be tracked. No need to worry about that. Drive it like you stole it.

Yes, I bought mine at the 2 year mark due to the low price. I was a bit worried about pricing and coverage changes in the future. I got an additional 7 years and 56K miles with the zero deductible Platinum plan, as I'd mentioned before, for $1429.

Can you elaborate on the pricing and coverage changes in the future? Is it soon?

Nothing solid, just a bit of paranoia on my part. The price was just so unbelievably low, IMO. I just wanted to take advantage of that price point. You're probably fine to wait, if you want.

My wife's '21 C8 has 20,000 miles and the only problem so far has been the dashboard going black for a moment, before turning itself back on with a warning in the right tile (the powertrain was not affected). She recycled the ignition and the warning went away. That was a month ago and it has not come back. Of course, it's a sample of one but as far as I can tell, problems are not widespread on the C8. As always, people who have problems are more vocal than those who don't, so sampling the complaint line might give you a skewed impression.
Just for peace of mind though, we have the extended warranty/service contract on both cars.

Go here:

https://www.knappvehicleservicecontracts.com

That's the dealer I used on my '19 GS and will use again when my C8 is delivered. The quote for a new C8, GM Platinum Plan, out to 96 months or 100,000 miles with $0 deductible is $3048.
