I had the c6 Z06 and my C8 is a quantum leap in all metrics. I am quite impressed GM was able to pull this off for this price point.

I had Z51 and a non Z51, one with and one without mag ride. The power trains were great but the build quality left me cold as both had serious rattles in them which is just unacceptable to me for a car that price. Honestly, the non Z51 was just fine for everyday street driving and the brake dust was minimal. The Z51 was as bad or worse than my GT350 regarding brake dust. As a result, I bought a non Z51 with mag ride C8 and I just love it. The handling is off the charts with the all season tires. Michelin did an amazing job with those puppies.

I know that other transmission problems have been posted on this thread with pinhole leaks in the casing, to control modules to rear seals. I have not seen any posts about the transmission pan. We picked up our C8 on April 17th and drove it home to South Florida about 1900 miles. Two weeks ago I noticed two oil spots under the car by each rear wheel. When I looked under the car the entire under pan was covered in oil. I could not tell if it was engine or transmission oil. I took it to the dealership that has a really good Corvette Tech working there. At first he thought it was the transmission pan gasket but after replacing the gasket, it was still leaking. He took the pan off and found that it was warped. Unfortunately the transmission pan is on national hold and the dealership does not know when or if the part will be available. If you know of others with this problem please post on this thread. Thanks

I just want to add that now at 6500 miles, that despite beating on/driving my C8 like its a loaner rental, and despite parking it outside 24/7/365, my car has been flawless.

NO ISSUES. ZERO problems.

I just want others to know that most owners are driving well built cars with no component failures.

When do the rattles happen? (I don't have the C8 yet) It's just bad quality and nothing is wrong with the powertrain?

Those were C7s that had the rattles that I spoke about in a previous post. The first had a rattle/popping/creaking from the removable top which they never fixed and the second was a rattle in the dash on the passenger side that started 4 miles from the museum on the way home and was never resolved. Brand new car. I took a chance on the C8 as it was a new platform and most comments were glowing on the build quality of the car which is ironic now reading this sticky.

I had a C7 that had numerous rattles, both interior and exterior. Many of the interior rattles were there from day one and trying to get them resolved was a nightmare. So far, my C8 HTC with ~1300 miles has been rattle free.

I truly wish that all of us that have problems/issues with our cars could have been as lucky as you.

Use a heat gun with a piece of aluminum foil behind it against the carpet to soften it up and bend it in or pull off the panel to do the same.

Some issues that have been noted so far...

Passenger window started going up and down by itself while driving. Crazy. Any idea what going on . Goes back to service tomorrow. Vehicle is sweet though

Transmission leak?

Weak axle?
Granted it broke drag racing with nitrous, so maybe well deserved, but a warning to those who are considering mods

Seats

Dash

never buy the first year of any GM car.gm lets the customers work the bugs out.my friends new c8 with 250 miles on it,broke a valve spring.they replaced all valve springs.at 500 miles broke another valve spring.replaced with different part number.he is not a happy camper.he is not a hot rodder or beats on the car.normal driving.gm bulletin out says valvue springs on ALL gm v8 motors could be suspect.WTF.

Since it was an 11 day delay from the original day I was supposed to pick it up, I went over to the service department to find out what was really wrong with the rear window. The service advisor was very nice and explained exactly what was wrong. Apparently there is a “limit switch” on both the driver and passenger sides of the rear window that tells the window motor when the window is all the way up. That limit switch on the drivers side was not in the correct position so it was telling the motor to shut off before the window was all the way up. The limit switch is mounted in a small slot so that it can be adjusted up or down. Once it was adjusted to the correct position, the window works perfectly. So, in the end, not really a big deal other than it shipped from the factory out of alignment requiring the dealership to fix it. The other problem is that there was nothing in their service manual about it yet, so they had to get GM involved to tell them what to do.

Yes, Tension and Twilight Blue. We like it. A couple of pictures in post #173 in this thread:

Default Check engine light blues

Took delivery of C8 in early April. Check engine light on first start up. Dealer replaced O2 sensor. Car shipped to home. Check engine light and no fuel level indication in 15 minutes. Local dealer replaced in tank sensor and another O2 sensor. Fuel level fixed but CEL came on again after one hour. Took it to another dealer in area, asked them to involve Chevrolet engineers. Troubleshot to engine control module. Now 4 weeks and counting with no part in sight. Is there a good recourse for addressing this?

Ours is also about a pinky wide.

I see foot scuff marks are not unique to us. To avoid permanent damage, we have covered the vulnerable area with inexpensive vinyl with peel-back adhesive on one side.

Linda, no offense intended...... but this should be filed under "issues" and not "problems"

You have an issue and definitely NOT a PROBLEM........

A problem is when the engine blows, burns oil, or transmission does not shift properly, or if the car has electrical gremlins.

You just simply have an ISSUE.
