Well, I think for a lot of people $600 for one tire because it picked up a nail IS a problem.
Run flats are the problem. Or the nail is the problem. The money is the problem. It's hard to blame the C8 except nowhere to put a spare tire so you can get rid of the run flats which are the problem when they meet a nail. Pirelli says they aren't repairable. Anyone know for sure if this is true that they can't be repaired like non run flats (Zero Pressure)?

Can you sure, should you No. I had a buddy, bought a Ferrari, same scenario nail/flat. He had it patched. Month later at high speed it came apart. he did not make it. Buy a new tire, cheapest life insurance you'll ever find.
I wonder why Corvette always does run flats. My ZL1 doesn't have a spare and did not come with runflats, came with the inflator kit. Is it because they don't have space for the inflator kit either? I think the 2001 Z06 did not come with runflats and had an inflator in the trunk.

Can't get more real or true than that. Sorry about your friend.
When I get my C8 I better get one of those tire repair kit and an inflator then! thanks
That’s what I did. I still consider that an “in the middle of nowhere” repair kit. Otherwise I’ll get it flat bedded somewhere where the tire can be properly repaired or replaced. If it looks like the tire can’t be repaired (sidewall damage, puncture near the edge of the tire, larger than 1/4”/hole, etc), you can always drive on the run-flat if you don’t have too far to go. My understanding is that once you drive on a run flat tire with zero air pressure, it can no longer be patched.

Tires can be driven on for 50 miles at speeds up to 50 MPH and still be repaired. However, a dealer has no way to verify these conditions were met and some will refuse to repair if the tires have been driven on (and I don't know how they can verify the tires haven't been driven on with zero pressure).
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
