My 2020 c8 w/z51 got hit by this last Friday. Dealership can't figure out what's happening... they're working through schematics and talking with GM technicians to figure out what's wrong.. it's been at their shop ever since.
Only have 2300 miles on it - and I don't beat up my cars
It is not a problem but one thing I don't like about the C8 other than the bad break dust is the large key fob. Others that I have are smaller and easer to carry in your pocket. If I truly had my choice I would have a simple old fashion key.
Error in the graphics or calculation. YTD 20 in bottom not the same as the top ERGO Last % should be 67% (14582/21626), but the YTD 2021 is inaccurate as it is already greater than 2020MY - Attention to detail please.
When I picked up my car on Saturday, there were 2 other C8's at the dealer that were being repaired for transmission problems. A lot of the issues just aren't being reported.
Put a 100 miles on the car yesterday....drove around Lake Mead, it was a mild 120 degrees out! Keeping my fingers crossed for no more leaks!

Any more leaks? My car is being built tomorrow hoping for no problems. It is a non Z51 car and I thought I read about excessive brake dust on the Corvette. Is the brake dust only due to the z51 brakes or does it affect the standard Corvette too?
I don't find brake dust to be excessive on the C8 Z51. Compared to my AMG it's a peach.
Yep, compared to my Audi TTRS it's like 20% of the dust I find on that thing. Every drive there's a caked layer of dust and the wheels are gunmetal lol. Wild. Also I don't have any squealing on mine compared to the TTRS, which chirps like birds in a forest.

Since they are Brembo brakes maybe that is normal, and the fact they are an option on the Z51 doesn't mean anything? I don't know, I have no experience with these brakes but as I am considering putting in an allocation for a MY22 Z51 it is something to consider. Thanks for the knowledgeable input.
Where do you feel you can even get a 2022 model allocation at this point? Everybody is up in arms and one person even questioned if their March 21 deposit would actually go in to 2023. It sure is a crazy mess for everybody? I recommend getting your deposit down today and don’t keep thinking about it.
The dealer took 2 weeks to replace the valve body, then the next day I had a huge transmission leak in the garage. I had it towed back to the dealer. They advised the pan gasket was “defective” but got one installed in 5 days. I just got back from a 4400 mile road trip to Maine and the car ran great, 30mpg average and flawless transmission shifts even on all the mountain roads😎

Curious, has anyone tried to figure out what is the percentage of C8s with transmission issues in light of the number of cars produced thus far? Should be possible. I ask this since there is some debate within the forum as to whether this issue is statistically significant enough to warrant concern. You know, the "only folks with problems post" argument. The math is not that difficult. We know the exact number of cars actually produced. If we can get an exact count as to all the forum members which have had an issue with their transmission, then get the number of all C8 owners which are on the forum, we should be able to get a good statistical picture of the extent of the problem.

Great idea, and I'd support it. to refine, id break it down Z51 non 51, those who have added the extra 2 qts, etc. See if any pattern develops. Although I dont think there are enough issues to make any pattern. But hell good info is useful. I suspect the percentage is quite low. But you would have to verify ownership. Cause yeah and I'll say it, we have hand full of people who dont even own a C8 living on here to gripe. First vote, no issues 1389 miles
50% of the time my seat does not return to its set position. It stops about half way. I have to press the 1 button and it moves to the correct final location.
Anyone have an idea why? I'm sure its using standard GM stuff.

It’s difficult to get meaningful data from forum posts. Most Corvette owners aren’t on forums, and if they are they might not chime in at all either way.
In my quick research it appears that there are at least two completely different unrelated DCT problems that result in DCT replacement. One is internal component failure and the other is leaking porosity through the case. Just looking at DCT issue threads, it might appear as one big problem, but it really appears to be several smaller ones deserving their own polls.
Personally I feel the “chime in if you have no problems” threads useless as they’re largely made up of people with less than 2k miles.
