What percentage of these "problems" are DOA sub assemblies from suppliers vs errors in BGA during the assembly. The former GM has little control over aside from finding another supplier - if any. The later is totally under their control via the union.

It makes me wonder how a dead audio system is missed in post production check out. I've seen the video's of how they test, it should be caught there.

Post production QC is a "misnomer". If I recall correctly, the dedicated QC holds were a one time thing during the C8 first startup and unfortunately again after the first SD during the 2020MY.

To my knowledge, after that, there were no dedicated post 3800 QC inspections/holds for BGA Only If a vehicle fails one of the many checks during assembly, then it is pulled aside for remediation before being moved along for that specific problem.

How much of the sub-assemblies are tested during assembly is unknown. It would appear that GM is relying on the sub assembly manufacturers to do their own testing and only ship viable tested products to GM - but don't hold your breath. Are radios turned on and tested? Possibly only to test wiring connections. On, then off without trying reception? All a guess without being a BGA employee.

Considering the scope of the project, and especially in the middle of Covid, GM and BGA are doing a decent job. But there are certainly going to be hiccups. It's just the nature of manufacturing. They just need to do their best to prevent problems.

Car has 670 some miles on it, I still do not drive over 4k rpm for the breakin (do not plan on driving spirited until 1500 miles). Checked for fluid leaks, none apparent. Just wondering if anyone else had these codes and if its an electrical gremlin and that the light may go out on its own. Car appears to drive fine. Hate to have anyone touch the car if its really not needed.
I too got P0868 (& P02781). I first got the CEL yesterday while driving on local street in my 2021 C8. I filled up gas & made a few runs to Lowes than the CEL disappeared. It came back today. I went to auto part store and used the OBD2 scanner to get the codes and got 3 codes as below;
1. P0868 stored
2. P0868 permanent
3. P2781 permanent

Anybody else got these codes? What did the dealer do to fix?

I think it’s a broken valve spring.
they do know about the service bulletin about fouled plugs.
GM wants to replace push rod and spring.
Dealer wants to change engine.

3 weeks total in the shop. 1+ week waiting to diagnose, 1+ week waiting on a new amp to arrive, and the rest of the time waiting to install. Hopefully I can keep it out of the shop and put some miles on it now.

The button for my glovebox is giving out. Have to press 4 or 5 times to get it to open. Getting worse and worse. Nothing inside to hang it up. I'll have it looked at during my annual oil change coming up next month.

I find with mine that holding down the button for a second works, while a quick push often doesn't open it.

My 2021 C8 experienced an overnight battery drain. I had noticed that the radio would not turn off automatically when I opened the door. I knew this spelled trouble but I was too lazy to address it. The next morning, the battery was completely dead. The dealer said it was solved by an update to the software (which kept failing in my garage despite having an excellent wifi connection). No problems since the dealer updated the software. While at the dealership, they also replaced the cap on the auto lift reservoir which was recalled because of leaking. Also, for those wondering about ordering a new Corvette - it took 1 year and 1 day for my Corvette to get to me.

I've tried pressing and holding and it makes no difference. Pressing over and over again does.

Default Memory seats not working.

I have 7,100 miles on my 3LT 2020. Today, after a morning drive, I got in to go home and the seat did not return to the pre set driving position. When I tried to manually move it forward, at first it wouldn’t move. I had to move the manual fwd **** again and it moved a small amount. I had to keep doing this in order to get it properly positioned. I restarted the car several times. I reset the seat memory, both the exit and driving position- still doesn’t work. I checked the vehicle settings and it is still set for the seat memory to be operative.
my apologies if someone has addressed this already. I tried to search this thread but cannot figure out how to actually get to the responses.

2020 3LT Coupe. 4,600 miles.

Front lift switch went bad - new one on order. Filler cap recall ordered. Thankfully, the original did not leak.

Hearing some of these issues makes my little carpet issue seem not worth mentioning. The passenger side carpet on the right side near the door was not cut correctly. My dealer has ordered new carpet & they said it would take about a month to get it. They will need to remove both seats to replace with correctly cut carpeting. Dealer said that this was the second car with the same issue. This is a 2021
