Ah - now you are taking shots at my thread because people there are making fun of your transmission paranoia.
😂😂😂

BTW - if people read my thread they will see your mileage claim to be false.

You’re not worried, just checking the C8 problems thread for fun?
Maybe next you can start a “who isn’t old” thread to prove to yourself most C8 buyers are young.

Wrong again. If I had researched the C6 forum before I bought my 09 in 2019, I would have known about the many problems with it and been able to ask more questions before I bought the car. I had a lot of problems with it that were in service bulletins issued by GM that I had to pay to repair myself. The DCT issue doesn't even come close to the number of C6 owners who had the same problems I had with my C6. I haven't seen anything on the C8 Problems thread, or any other C8 thread for that matter, that even comes close to making me nervous about picking mine up in September. Keep trying.

Thats because you don’t want to have any problems. Read post #147 from a Tremec engineer. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ustrating.html

Default Check Engine Light - 2021 with 330 Miles

Hey everyone.

A few days ago, our C8 decided it wanted to do a quick hesitation in 4th gear when going a constant speed (not accelerating, decelerating, downshifting, or upshifting). Almost like the car completely cut out. Happened about 10 tines in about 20 mins. Got to the highway and it started happening in 8th gear.

It was happen sporadically, but I thought it might have something to do with the DCT or when the engine goes from 8 cyl to 4 cyl and vise versa. But it never happened exactly when those events occurred. Check engine light never came one and the OnStar report found no issues.

Called the dealership, and I could not get an appointment until 11th-August (almost two full weeks). They only have two certified Corvette techs, so I guess they must be busy with other issues too...not a warm and fuzzy feeling.. I was the eight 2021 delivered to this dealership..

Took the car for a short ride today to see if the the hesitation was there, and it was. After 10 minute ride, the check engine light came one and remained on...The OnStar report came back this time:
"Immediate Attention
Engine and Transmission System
Issue found with Transmission System. You may have reduced power or shifting issues while driving. Please schedule a service appointment."

Will keep you posted...

Our vet was returned after only three days at the dealer. Here is what they found and did:

Codes thrown:
(1) P0700 (No description)
(2) P284E (Shift Fork 2 Unrequested Movement set in TCM)

What was done
(1) Performed even gear cleaning procedure 3 times
(2) Performed odd gear shift fork and odd gear clutch cleaning procedure 3 times
(3) Performed Fast Learn and cleared codes

Only have 411 miles on it now...but will be taking for a bit of a road trip + 200 miles this weekend and will post an update.

On interesting note in the repair order
* "If concern persists, replace the Main Control Valve Body. If there is still a problem after that replace the unit"

More to come......

I don't think that i would take any road trip in your C8 for a while (?500-1000 miles) until I was comfortable that the problem was truly fixed. I wouldn't want to have to deal with repairs at a New dealership plus the logistics of getting home, ... Hopefully it is gone, but ...

Good point. Going less than 75 miles from the dealer .... so worse case I will have it flat-bedded to dealer .....

What's the worse that could happen

Default Poor GM Support and Service!

The all new 2020 Corvette is an amazing vehicle which my wife and I waited over 16 months for the build. Unfortunately in my case the Accelerate Yellow C8 has been sitting in my garage unavailable to be driven due to a broken windshield which can’t be sourced for replacement. Buyers must be aware that parts availability to repair these vehicles are as sparse as the vehicles themselves. I’ve contact 3 Chevrolet dealers and Safelight in order to get a windshield replacement and have been unable to obtain parts for the vehicle. The last dealer has asked that I go directly to GM on their behalf to request assistance.

In the meantime, the vehicle has recalls for the front end lift, software upgrade, and front wheels. It’s a shame to see Car of the Year become unusable due to the lack of manufacture support. At this time I believe the buyer must be aware that Chevrolet dealers have no eta on when parts will be available to service these vehicles; thus, the customers who waited over a year for the vehicle are put in a position for waiting for an undetermined amount of time for repairs.

This is not the Car of the Year experience we had hoped for.

Pressure your dealer to contact GMV and request an extension of your warranty. My car had a delayed delivery, and after my persuasion my warranty was extended to 48 months/75,000 miles, in writing.

This is one of the sadder stories I've read about C8 problems. I'm sorry to hear your car is not operable. I hope you can get it back on the road soon.

Default Rough running 31miles

They replaced 2 injectors (low pressure)
No joy, they’re going to pull the head.
I think it’s a broken valve spring.
they do know about the service bulletin about fouled plugs.

Default Transmission leak the good and bad

My car was built 7/6 picked it up at dealership 7/13 drove it home from Lake bluff, Il.to Treasure Island,Fl. Fantastic trip no issues. Love the vette my first ! Pulled the car out of the garage and noticed a yellow puddle and hoped just a one time thing but it happened every time after a drive so took it to the dealership 7/20 and was told looks like a transmission leak! My worst fear from what I’ve read and seen on YouTube. Was told it would be days before it could be diagnosed so it sat for days at dealership. 7/27 vette was verified transmission leak and would be getting withGM for a resolution. Got a call from the Dealership 7/29 the problem was fixed a leak at the transmission filter housing. Housing and seals were replaced and ready to go!!! Today 8/7 NO issues Looooove my car what a beauty and bad ***! Hope it stays that way. Couldn’t be happier with the results from the dealership Maher Chevrolet in St.Pete. And my service guy Chuck will go back for service at 7,500 miles.

Very happy, as I’m sure you are, that it wasn’t the “dreaded” transmission porosity leak! And a good story ending having found Chuck, a good Corvette technician.
