I would think that getting past the 500mi break-in would be the key milestone.

I am on the cusp of placing my order for a base C8/3LT and the issues that I am reading and have read gives one pause. I like the C8 design but why are there still so many problems? I have never owned an American car for this reason, 6 Porsches and 4 Lamborghinis' and essentially they were all trouble free or had minor issues that were corrected right out of the gate.

You've obviously been reading the forums too much. P cars, L cars, and F cars don't have any better track record with problems than the vette. Everybody has random issues and some have a more focused issue. The DCT for example. But, do the math. The volume that GM does compared to the failure rate is going to be negligible compared to any of those snob cars. And hey, you don't have to deal with snob people (usually) when buying a vette.

Qwazipsycho? Quasi, no, you're just being modest. Unfortunately, based upon the quality of your post I am not reassured.......do the math.

Still trying to enjoy the car, but my patience is wearing thin.
Man, those are some disconcerting issues. Sorry to hear it..........
No excuse to let a car leave the factory with a defective windshield.

CZR1VETTE2019....Ive been on the CF for quite some time and its been an invaluable tool for the unfortunate folks who got stuck with some lemons ....and by the looks of your screen name you've got (or had) a C7ZR1 which is amazing car in of it self...but the new C8 is an entirely different platform from the C7....the the truth is that although you will see problems with the cars on this forum...you dont hear about the folks who are enjoying trouble free driving...and there is I am on my 4th vette...the new c8 is a completely different animal than anything Ive driven..Ive been on the track ay NJ motor sprots speedway and drove P, F & L.....

'After' 6 years ? check your math !

regardless, I'm sorry to hear of everyones frustration ........

Based on this forum I tend to agree because there just aren't enough competent dealers with service departments knowledgeable enough to maintain these cars. Combined with the tranny issues it does make one think twice before buying. My wife's Lexus has over 100k miles and has never been in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance. Can't say the same for my BMW or Mercedes.

I've been waffling back and forth, ready to buy, then not, then wanting a C8, then can't handle dealing with any problems no matter what. To me the car is only as good as its weakest or most failure prone component. I've checked other vehicles with DCT and the reported issues are no where as near common as the C8. The C7 had a class action lawsuit over their trans I believe. Apparently GM's take is it's cheaper to warranty replace than to re-engineer and build a better more issue free trans. My biggest concern may be a failure after the 5 year powertrain warranty. I'm still undecided. 15% off MSRP at some dealers looks attractive.

Yeah but the Lexus(front end) is butt ugly ! My current BMW X5 ('23) and the one I had before were both flawless as well. probably my last BMW though for they are going the 'Ugly Grill' look just like Lexus !

It is my opinion that reading internet forums can give a distorted impression of problems. I'm on several forums for a prescription medication Im taking. During the FDA approval trials for this drug less than 5% of users experienced gastrointestinal side effects. At least 50% of the posters on these forums, however, complain of gastrointestinal problems. Many readers of the these forums are reluctant to take the medication due to all the posts reporting problems.

I certainly don't want to minimize any of the issues anyone is experiencing and Im not certain how problem prone the C8 really is, but, again, in my opinion, I think the C8 forum can give a distorted view of the actual frequency of problems.

My 2022 has been trouble free and Im experiencing no side effects from the medication.

I would think one would get on a meds forum likely to avert, report, or deal with issues. A bit different than a performance car forum in my eyes. At any rate, glad to hear your car and and med effects are issue free!

ive only had my c8 for a few months and its tucked away in the garage for the winter since november, only got to 917 miles so far! but one thing i noticed that i don't like (so far the only thing i don't like about it) is the paint, super soft and can scratch just by touching it. seriously scratched wiping it with a micro fiber cloth. my cheap ford maverick has better paint. not sure if its just because i have led lights in the garage and i can see everything in there or not. in natural light its less noticeable. i feel like the paint could be a little better. everything else about the car rocks! love the thing. tons of attention and its super fun!

Don't worry about it. The only reason it's concerning is all the people who haven't had problems aren't on here writing how perfect their cars are. There's a lot more of them than the few that have problems. You have to consider the ratio. GM has made more C8's than any other MY. So yeah, there's gonna be some failures. No need to blow it out of proportion.
