people should not get so hung up on HP numbers. What if the car had 600 hp with the performance improvements that the ME design has offered AND weighed 3100-3200 pounds??
my guess is you have never been in a late model GT3RS. NA 500-520 hp.... and it is damn near perfect
horsepower isn’t everything.
You'll never see that again from Corvette. So yea . It'll need a hell of a lot more ho than 600 to satisfy most coming from C7Z06's.

I disagree. C6 Z06 was NA 505 HP. C7 Z06 is forced induction 650 HP (basically carrying forward the C6 ZR1 power level) and was prone to overheating in some climates the first couple of years where they had to change the hood (larger vents) and supercharger cover. C8 Z06 will be NA flat plane crank. I'll take 600 NA over 650 forced induction in a track car any day, especially being in the Houston, TX area where heat and humidity are ridiculous in the summer months.

No.
The hood was unchanged, the vents were unchanged, the cover housed a new supercharger with tilted inter-cooler bricks, a new hood liner was used, and a secondary radiator was installed.

You are absolutely right. The vents were never changed, that was just speculation from the magazines before the actual changes were released. In this video Tadge says the hood is not changed, just the liner.
An 11 second car is pretty slow at most tracks. Its nothing to right home about.
Oh, really?
Didn't know that most cars now run sub 11 second 1/4 miles. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those "pretty slow" C8s. LOL! Just when you think you've heard it all, 11 secs@123 is "pretty slow". Somebody needs to put down the crack pipe.
To each his own. I have the best of both worlds. A 700hp LPE twin turbo C5, and a stock C7. The stock C7 is plenty fast, and the C5 is overkill. The C8 is a game changer. Plenty fast.

I like to drive from Port Charlotte up to the 1/4 mile track at BMP (Bradenton Motorsports Park). Although an 11-second car seems plenty fast to me, it's no longer considered fast by many car enthusiasts these days, especially the age 18 - 35 crowd. There's even a modified minivan faster than that there, along with numerous modified Hondas, Kias, and various other Asian cars, along worth modified pickup trucks. It blows my mind! Cheap Chinese turbos work wonders (until they almost inevitably break, at some point). The locals respect times in the 10s, but the real respect is bestowed upon the sub-10 second racers.
