New RED!
TR went from '93-'04, took a break from '05-'09, and because of the intense explosion in the Corvette community, came back in '10.
In regards to your "intense explosion in the Corvette community" comment, wasn't that period of "explosion" attributed more so to the 2008 post economic recovery? Healthy economic conditions appear to be the primary driver of markets. Seems today's economy is more in line with the economy we saw during 2008 recession/crash more so than what we experienced during the subsequent recovery.
Give it up man. Really. If they ever replace Torch Red, it'll be with another no-charge, non-metallic, orange-faking-it-as-red color. This Red Mist ain't that.
As you were.

2005 C6 in TR at the NCM
On June 25, 2004 this one and only C6 was painted C5 Torch Red (1G1YY24U855100273) by the factory and shipped to Detroit for color evaluation.

That had absolutely nothing to do with the response from the Corvette community over the loss of Torch Red. Nothing at all. Where the hell are you digging this crap up from? There was a noteworthy and vociferous response from the Corvette community when the C6 was debuted without the expected Torch Red color. Lots of complaints, bitching, carrying on like someone's dog got shot, etc. GM noticed it. They heard the message loud and clear. It just took them five MY to un-fornicate their decision.

I was planning on the 2-tone Tension blue with ELB exterior, but I’m not so sure after seeing this second picture.
So now I don’t no what to order, it would be nice to see a Red Mist car before my order has to be submitted, probably second consensus for 2021s. Decisions, decisions!
Black with two-tone red seats would be better as the amount of red would be reduced.
I'd be ok with the ELB and two-tone interior.
A Forum moderator corrected my assumption in a post that it was an extra time for the paint coat or they must not have had another paint robot in the line for the 3rd coat. He said the extra cost was because they had to clean the clear color robot and install tinted clear then clean again. That is my understanding of what my C7 Crystal Red Metallic tintcoat was, a tinted single clear coat. Differing costs for various GM cars for the same color was based on the cost of doing that on those lines. He said the limit on number was the extra time they could tolerate in the paint line at the time and not reduce production speed. He had been through the paint line at the time so I'm assuming he was correct. Perhaps it's changed on the new paint line.
Paint can cost more particularly the metallic colors. My Street Rod paint, for example has two sizes of aluminum flake. Pearl, which one post said "Red Mist" was the same number as as dark red one called Tactical Pearl 1 (See pic below.) Pearl paint is made with iridescent mica. ChromaFlair is a pigment that changes color as you move around the car in the same light. It can cost >$10,000 just for the paint. Here is a quote: an ultra-exclusive Porsche Chromaflair paint job costs roughly $100,000. In that case it's more that the paint!
Yep there are more expensive paints!
Yep works for small cute "things!" The C8 is longer than my 2017 Grand Sport and almost as wide. Wider than my 2014 Z51!
Not So Cute When They Get Big!
