C8 jacking
Note, had 3 inch diameter aluminum pads for my C6 but in one frame slot it hit my 2014 C7 composite panel, probably why the C7 Owner's Manual says use max 2 1/2 inch pads. Hockey pucks can work as the eye hooks most use have a thin shaft that can be pushed to one side of the frame slot!
Considering where the C8 engine drain plug is located, looks like jacking the rear only will have it slop to that area so no need to lift front and rear for an oil change.
Most of my 2014 C7 slots cleared the composite rocker with my 3 inch diameter pads BUT one did not. Bought the recommended 2 1/2 inch diameter pads.
Even if you have a lift or "Quick Jack," etc need pads as most dealer techs don't use them and tire shops don't have them. You risk having your composite rocker panels cracked! First time I brought my C7 to the dealer to have the dif oil level checked per a GM notice, mentioned to the service writer who I knew well from my C6, to be sure the tech used the 4 lifting pads I had in a clear plastic bag on the passenger seat- my usual MO with my c6. She said, "Don't worry I will insist they use our alignment drive on rack as we just cracked a Corvette rocker panel and it's in the body shop being repaired! They have one alignment rack and ~18 center post lifts with arms. Most tire shops use center post lifts as they want the tires unsupported so they can get to all 4 wheels!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I will now order the C7 pucks for my C8!
they worked great on both my C7s. I built a puck lift jack so only the bottom and the first 90% of the side of the puck touch the puck lift holder. Works great. Can even move my jack while it smoothly pivots on the puck.
Thanks

NOW... the bigger question is ... can you jack the car up on its sides or do they advise against it like the other aluminum - framed C7s and the C6Z/ZR1?

ToolHoarder - I got my info from a Sam Strano a couple years back. He was talking about jacking the C6Z up and said that you weren't supposed to jack the aluminum frame cars from those jacking spots. I guess I should've clarified using a floor jack, not lifting them up in general.
