I recently picked up my C8. Unfortunately, the weather in the northeast hasn't been favorable to drive the car too often. (I have a whopping 30 miles on the car! LOL!) The last two times I started the car, the dash display shuttered (like a flickering TV), and within a few seconds settled to a stable view. The garage is not heated, and it has been very cold in PA. Do I need to be concerned or is this something I should expect since it is very cold? (I should have recorded a visual with my phone). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In my experience that flickering behavior would not pass GM validation criteria. Record the behavior with dates, times and ambient temperature readings before you visit your dealership. Might be tough to record as the normal display refresh rate might naturally be detected by the camera you choose and visually observable in the recording. Do some practice recordings when the display is normally appearing and see if the image is stable or refresh flicker is noticeable.
Thank you. I will try to capture the issue with my phone when I start the car. I probably should have done that initially. I didnt think about it assuming it may have just been a fluke. Now I am concerned.

I should have prefaced my comments with a capital IF IT PERSISTS AND IT BOTHERS YOU.
SW is funny and weird combinations of operating parameters are stored when your car is turned off. The couple of times you noticed it could have been unique combinations of weird things.
Even if it persists, search the C8 Problems thread for the “reset” procedure that is initialized by leaving the driver door open for 90 seconds or more with the motor off. There are a lot of posts that claim it is a good habit because of all those weird SW (software) and parameter storage processes. Worth a try.
Roads are clean here in my area of MA today. The 2020 HTC is going out today. Enjoy yours!

When I took my C8 in for the first service, there was a software update for cold weather screen issues. I never experienced any issues because we do not get the extreme cold weather.
As mentioned, I would also try the reboot:
1. Start car with both doors closed, then turn off engine.
2. Open drivers door for at least 90 seconds.
3. Close door and restart engine to complete the reboot.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I will give it a try! Hopefully it takes care of the problem. Someone else also suggested keeping a battery tender on the car.

I really appreciate your reply and willingness to help me with this problem. I am going to try the procedure that "Mike's LS3" suggested in this string of reply's to my question. If unsuccessful, I will be in contact with you for additional guidance. Thanks again!!!!
I also live in PA and have for years had both summer and winter cars; I usually store my summer cars from Nov 1st to April 1st. There have been a few times that I did not have a battery tender (the weather became unseasonably nice) attached for a couple of weeks and have had issues like you describe. Is your car on a tender? If not try putting it on one and see if it repeats what it is doing. With all the electronics now in cars batteries (and their state of charge) tend to have a much bigger impact than they used to.
Thank you. Someone else also recommended a tender. I actually added one about 1 week ago. However, I haven't had an opportunity to see if it made a difference. I am glad to hear that I am not the only person that experienced this issue. I appreciate your input!!!!
I also live in PA and am having the same display issue. I’ve had my C8 since September and only encountered this problem recently as temps went below freezing. It is my daily driver and any morning that temps are at, or below freezing the issue arises. It always resolves itself after a few minutes of driving. Don’t have the issue later in the day when temps are milder. I’ve tried the reboot - did not resolve the issue.
First time Corvette owner and enjoying the car so much, that I’m trying not to take it to the dealership where I might be without it for a day or two.

I got the car out yesterday for the first time in about 2 weeks. I have been using a tender for a few weeks. When I started the car, the corvette picture came on the screen with a portion missing on the left of the screen. Then, the gauges appeared with the same missing section. (See photo). It flickered, lines through the display, all black for a second and then was fine the remainder of the day?

That looks like a bad “driver” or connection, either in the controller electronics box or the display panel itself. Clearly an item that the dealer should address.

Just thinking, if that the case wouldn't it do it all the time as opposed to just for seconds at cold startup?
