It's at least a start. I'm not fond of it just being a manual mode thing but if that's how it has to be initially to get anything started it's better than 0 progress. It definitely can help some with that horrible drop in rpms from the gearing to get you out of the power curve from 4th to 6th.

Congrats ECS & HPTuners on making progress! Personally, I would be ok with only being able to rev higher in manual as I drive in manual 100%. My guess is they are setting the rev limit in manual at 7100 as the tach only goes to 7000. They can probably set it higher, but you'd need a secondary shift light to tell you when to shift (or figure out some way to install the Z06 tach display on a SR/ER).
7100 rpm in a Z51 allows 126mph in 4th. No other changes and a stock C8 is going to be solidly in the 10.8s. I wonder what the safe upper limit on a stroked 427 LT2 would be? A torque monster that could still see 7000rpm would be small block heaven.

The one thing that's been holding me back from really considering the LPE 427 for my new ERay was the rev limit. Being able to set it to even 7100 makes a 427 ERay a very interesting proposition. Even just a cam/heads/E85 ERay build would be very impressive.
I'd be concerned about the longevity of the stroker at those higher rpms. The reciprocating forces are exponentially higher with the longer stroke. Maybe split the difference and set the 427 to rev to 6750? Not sure if that would offer much on the street in all reality. The thing sure sounds good when it passes 6500 though...
I may be able to soon shed some more light on this. Getting things together for a 427 build currently. I'll see if my tuner & builder are interested in seeing what it's capable of. No promises though as I've instructed them to make it very daily driver friendly so the cam grind may not even lend itself to much at the top end. We shall see. Should have 400+ lb-ft over a very wide band. The goal I have in my head is 550-560whp on E85.
If anyone gets more information please post but it would be nice to know if there is an rpm limit while in manual mode with this fix or more about it. My hope is it's 1 step towards automatic mode and unlock soon.
Just poked around East Coast Supercharging's website and found nothing referencing this at all. Their site is weird, half the C8 'tiles' show zero results when you click them. They really need to hire one of the million twenty-somethings out there with experience building websites to fix their situation.

I did same thing and thought same way. Callaway is just as bad, their site is garbage.
Lingenfelter's is kind of trash too. a lot of the 'legacy' tuners are going to get left behind if they can't step up their customer online 'experience'. Evolve or die.
Whaaat!? Is this the game changer we've been waiting on!? That's effin' HUGE. Makes being able to squeeze out 600RWHP+ N/A easier now but more importantly makes 4th gear MUCH more useable
It's cool but keep it in perspective. 4th now tops out at 126 instead of 115. Not really sure how much difference that makes for a street car. I guess if you're a track rat that could be huge but for anyone just using the car on the road, it's another band-aid to try remedy the horrible ratios. If 4th was a proper 1:1, none of this would matter.
Something is better than nothing. I just wish they would crack it or something. I wonder if after the c9 starts coming out if one of those "keys" to unlock it all slips out.

It’s a huge deal in every gear. The feel ripping higher rpm’s in every gear (1st-4th) and even after has to be better. If you know your car you can easily feel the difference between a 3:90 and 4:10 gear 😉
Umm am I missing something bc this has been possible since tuning has been available, nothing new here. In manual mode it will default to what the rev limiter is on the engine side lol.
