There is no reason to have an attorney involved in a lemon law case. The only reason is to give money to an attorney for doing nothing. Before anyone disagrees, I've been at a lemon law hearing in Illinois and no attorney was needed for anything.
I tried to read as much as I could on this thread, unless I missed something, does GM has a resolution on 2025 engines? as that's what I have
What do you mean by a "Resolution" on 2025 engines? Do you mean did they find a problem and fix it for 2025?
Doubtful- sounded like random failures to me.

yes correct. If they found rhe problem and fixed it. Oh well
Had a friend over today who was discussing his new C8Z HTC w/Z07 pkg that is having the engine pulled with only a few ticks over 1k mi due to what the dealership says is injector issues. Said they're replacing all injectors, gaskets, seals, etc. & it should take ~2 weeks. Needless to say, he's not thrilled.
Said the dealership offered to buy it back for what he paid, but wouldn't add for the full ppf & ceramic he did.
Oh powertrain out operations are so common these days, I'm sure it'll be fine.
I'm sure they'll make sure to keep all that shop dust out of the engine when it's laid open out and about for a few weeks

Right. Nothing like paying $170k+ & needing the engine pulled at 1k mi. I'd be initiating a buy-back immediately. But not my car. I hope it works out for him as it's a great-looking car.

Seems like he’d come out ahead anyway given the discounts available

Good point, if he could get ~$10K off MSRP it would be a wash. I wonder how the state deals with the taxes, or does GM reimburse those? Taxes for me were almost 10% so it would suck to have to pay again.

My understanding is his dealer offered to buy it back, not GM. I don't know of any dealers in our area that give discounts, and if he purchased from the dealer who is doing the repair, I'd almost guarantee he did not get a discount. Probably paid ADM. I'll have to ask.

when i was doing my buyback GM provided me documentation that my state does not allow them to reimburse sales taxes. Unsure why the state doesn't look out for its people. Anyways as I purchased the car from an out of state dealer, and that state does allow tax reimbursement I did get full reimbursement. I called several attorneys and one who exclusively deals in lemon law advised I explore the reimbursement using purchase state, not residency state.

That's great - I'm glad it worked out to your advantage. Every little bit helps, and that was probably some decent coin.
Hi All-
Just received my 2025 in January with the ZO6 along with the ZO7 package. Ran great up until 606 miles and the engine failed, GM was real good about fixing it as well as the dealer, it’s just a real bummer to have that happen. The dealer was told by Chevrolet not to even crack it open they wanted it back. I would really like to know what happened to it, i tried GM customer service and they said talk to your dealer, well that went nowhere. If anyone has any idea how to find out I would appreciate it. I would just like to know if what I felt and heard lines up with what they found out.
They are now putting together a repurchase package which I’m waiting to hear from them as well, if anyone has any experience with the process I could certainly use the help in understanding the process.

Sorry to hear this again! Keep us posted as to the resolution.

I dont think GM would share those specifics. Usually VEH failures (very early hour) are assembly related but not all cases. Im sure they will take care of you but no obligation to share failure details.
Ford did that with the GT350s. Many of them went bad due to oil consumption and they replaced lots of engines, but never said what the issue was and they took the motor back. I had one replaced at 5 K miles as it was burning a quart every 150 miles at the end of its short life. The new long block had its own ID which made some people mad, as they wanted the new block to be stamped with the failed engine number. Ford said nope. If you want new free motor you accept it’s not going to be the same serial number as the bad one.
Reading of all these LT6 failures is giving me cause to think I should have ordered a Stingray rather than a ZO6. Can only imagine the issues that will arise with the ZR1's coming soon. This is like a crap shoot and I am not a gambler.
It’s not much of a gamble when you play with house money. Between the warranty and lemon law you are covered. The people who buy used with no warranty or modify their car immediately and then have a problem only to find they voided the warranty are the real gamblers.

While that is true, spending $150 k on a car to have a serious engine problem which would require a dealer mechanic to tear it out while trying to make book time is not my idea of a good time. Trust me, I know about how things are done in dealerships . I have been a mechanic for 45 years.

This… these aren’t F1 mechanics or car restorers. They only make money going fast and torque specs aren’t used for anything.
