Those are race deck tiles. Never again. They show every grain of sand, scratch super easy and they buckle in the sun. I bought the bay next to this and joined the two, the other bay I did polyaspartic paint with some red/white/grey flake it is absolutely AMZAZING! Pricey but worth every cent. Looks clean all the time, doesn't yellow with the sun etc. Highly Highly recommend.

A little bummed today. I picked up the car this morning after having it ppf'd and the guy pointed out a paint defect about a foot long on the diver side skirt. Looks like the paint is rough, almost bubbled. Hard to see if you aren't down there up close but i don't want it to start to lift off or peel. Grrrrr

Oh no! Sad to hear that. I hope you can find an easy way to resolve. I would show the dealer, as this will be handled under warranty and most likely they will try to buff out or maybe even remove the skirt and repaint. Good thing is that it can be removed. I have mine at ppf shop as well and found some paint issues on the back hatch that we are going to try and resolve. So I feel your pain I'm hoping to get resolved without having to send to a body shop of the dealerships as I prefer the professional detailers and the personal TLC.

How do you like the PPF look on the car. Any pics? What ceramic coat you put on it. Did you ceramic coat the rest of the car yet?

Damn, just got a quote to ppf the whole car of $11k.
That is very high.

Here in Sarasota I received a quote for Xpel full coverage for $6,800 which includes professionally applied Ceramic coating on the whole car. This was from a quality shop who works on very high end cars.

I inquired about PPF when I first got my Z06 last July. I was quoted for the whole car $10,500 and $11k respectively and they would tint the windows for free. WOW, free tint. Where do I sign up..lol
But what a ripoff PPF is. I have much better things to spend $10K on, not to mention Ive never had an issue with my C7Z with any paint problems, and that car has over 30K miles on it.
I just did paint correction,. ceramic coating, and some wax and thats all you really need in my opinion. PPF nothing but a money grab.

Oh ok. I have been debating on doing the floor in the garage with coating or tiles. Thanks for the update on the tiles. I was wondering if doing with the tiles with the holes in the floor are good either that way you could rinse car in garage if you wanted too.

I'll take some pictures but probably can't really tell but I did PPF the whole front end, the side skirts and the bottom portion of the sides up to the wheel well as well as the gas cap, side mirror, chicken foot and door sills. This weekend I put the ceramic coating on the entire car except the rear lid that has some imperfections in the paint I want to get out first.

I used Gyeon Mohs Evo Pure. I used one of their coatings years ago on my 2017 Camaro and it worked really well. Extremely hydrophobic and just now is starting to wear off a bit (I only drive it about 1500 miles per year if that).

The Pure is much thicker than the other coating i used, The previous one was very thin and I did 3 coats. The Pure is much thicker and almost sticky but goes on very easy and you can wipe it off up to 10 minutes after application.

It may not be commercial quality but like I said, their products seem to work well....I'll see how this one reacts to water when I wash it.

I also got their coating for rims, going to wait until I get the aftermarket set I have on order to use it. It will make brake dust hopefully stick less and just be overall easier to clean which with black is what I want. The less I have to physically touch the car the better.

In a perfect world though, i think I would have love to have the whole car wrapped and ceramic over it but $11k for a whole car rap I couldn't justify. Hope I don't regret that by once cry once rule

Well again, having both, there is NO way I'll ever do tiles again. Drop something heavy on them, and they will break. I have a few round holes in some tiles where something fell. Also if you are going to use a floor jack or a axle stand, the jack's wheels will leave divits in the tile that you can see etc. Horrible.

Polyaspartic is the only way to go IMO.

As for the tiles with the holes....I thought about that, at least sand etc will fall underneath and the floor will look cleaner, but at what point does the it get too dirty underneath? I'm not taking them apart or sliding them outside to vacuum. Drop little parts, say goodbye to those as well and you still have the issue with them easily stained, denting, breaking, scratching and warping if in the sun. I'd pass but that's just me.

Hit 500 miles on Sunday and gave it some skinny pedal...the exhaust and the sound is intoxicating!!!

BTW, a piece of useless knowledge, the key fob can survive a wash in the washing machine as well as a round in the dryer...ugh...

Forgot it in my pocket but it still works....not recommended of course but just in case lol

Got the email from Forgelite that my rims are done. I think they look great and can't wait for them to get here. (These are their SV08 rims in Carbon Flasth)

Again, I've never worked with this company but they are amazing. Very responsive, very professional and their products look top notch!

I would certainly recommend them if you are considering swapping out wheels on your Z.

Thanks my man, part of the reason I chose them was they look easier to clean! Some of the designs out there look awesome but look absolutely impossible to clean LOL

They are on the way from Canada as of this morning, hopefully be here next week and then I can hopefully get the tires mounted quickly.

I'll definitely post pictures when they are done!
