It’s still a great track car for most everyone for the price. Definitely not worth the price for a street car except the bragging rights. Not sure I’d concern myself if I had one.
Michelin claims a second per mile improvement going from Cup2 to 2R, so expected a 7 flat from Sport Auto given their 7:13 with C7Z06. Though in fairness 10 seconds on a 12.9 track is equivalent to only a second on a 1.3 mile track, so it’s not as big of a delta as it may appear given the abnormal length.
That claim is for regular Cup2s to Cup2Rs. The Cup2 ZPs on the C7 were not regular Cup2s and almost a tire unto themselves designed specifically for the C7. I am sure the Cup2Rs are faster, but the delta is not as much as people are making it out to be. See below
C7 Zp
Regular Cup2
Also, the C8 Cup2Rs ZPs are not like regular Cup2Rs. They were specifically designed for the C8 and have different characteristics. The regular Cup2Rs are known to give 1 or 2 stellar laps and then fall off while the C8 Cup2Rs were designed to give consistent lap times for 10 or so laps.
If this is THAT IMPORTANT..... you ought to be on one of the different forums. I'm not sure anybody here bought a Z just because of the 'Ring' lap time potential. Who cares......
With devastating recent news that the fastest track spec C8 Z06 with Z07 package ran a yawn inspiring 7:10 lap time at the Nurburgring how much do we anticipate C8 Z06 values decreasing?
Why didn't you include 0% in the poll? That would have gotten more votes than the other choices.

The Nurburgring thread currently has 115 replies and it's increasing. The IG post has plenty of replies and engagement too. Clearly a topic C8Z owners and potential ones care significantly about.

Many have taken interest, but I bet they don't think the car is any less valuable.
Cash waiting for a Z06 at 75% off! Maybe 2. Grey with red interior preferred. no Z07 as it’s just a going to be driven to church on Sundays by my grandmother. It’ll never do over 45 mph!

Tread design makes a difference, but pictures don’t show compound differences. Every tire has an optimal temp and the 2R still showed an optimum time on the first couple laps in the graph at a qualifying pace, then it showed to be consistent at a race pace(less heat from less slip angle) for 12 is the way I understood it. Mero wanted the 2R compound for the C7ZR1, but then the C8Z06 wouldn’t be close to matching it’s performance for marketing purposes and why I think they waited to introduce it on the Corvette as C7Z06 and C7GS wear the same size tires as C7ZR1 did.

Really? Sounds like you made this thread just for likes, replies or views, being sarcastic or not. Just as bad as a YouTuber, posting his videos for clicks.
Take a honest poll and ask how many Z06 owners care about the Nurburgring lap time. I'll tell you right now, I dont care. What did the C8Z do at the VIR? Smoked a lot of race cars.
I would love to see the Z06 lap times by all the Walter Mitty wanna be guys on here. Wonder if they would think the car was the problem with their 8:26 time?

Exactly. It's a troll post by the OP and we already have another thread discussing this topic about the Sport Auto Ring time.
Considering 40 people have voted on this poll and also that same IG account just posted the manual C7Z was faster than C8Z in the long straights is not helping C8Z values at all especially in this market there's validity to value decrease. Most owners never track their cars and a loss in a competition of acceleration against a previous generation vehicle would be embarrassing.

Then trade your C8Z for a C7Z, this way you can have bragging rights in the long straightaways. Trust me, not enough people care. Lots of factors go into play. Who was driving both cars? How do you know one was driven softer than the other? How do you know if both cars were prepped correctly? You dont have answers to any of these questions.. Just give it a rest already.
My C8Z06/07 isnt going to be devalued because a C7Z manual beat it in some worthless time lap straightaway..
