Not sure if you guys are interested in doing this or not but we did it on our Bloomington trip and it turned out to be one of the highlights. We searched along the route to find a place to eat that had been featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives".
For the Mid-Ohio route I found one that is about 3 miles off the highway on the East side of Cleveland. Here's a link to their menu.

You'll get plenty of time behind the wheel. Looking forward to a special weekend with the posse.
The diner sounds great to me. There will be plenty of time to have some cold diet pepsi (or adult pops)when we get there. The diner will only add a 1/2hr to the drive. It will be a great opportunity to cool down the cars.
