Default Weathered rubber help?

Aside from replacement of the weather stripping, any good products to help this?

Shoot. My 2008 (build 9/07) coupe was doing this. I couldn't figure out what (if anything) I was using that made it do that. Did you just post something similar to this on the "other" Corvette forum?

I'd like to find out what is causing that to happen to the weather stripping. I have a new-to-me 2006 Z06 now and don't want it to happen to that car.

1) Remove all the top layer of rubber for more "uniformed" look
2) Replace weatherstripping and understand what happened

I think it's just the effect of sun on the rubber. My car is a brand new '07 that was still in dealer stock. I got it for a ridiculous discount, and this weather stripping is covered under warranty, but I'd rather not have it replaced if I don't have to.....some things the dealer can never get right.

I believe its the lubricant used at the factory discoloring the rubber. I have done several coats of Einszett and quite happy with the difference.

We should have more shortly ...quite a popular product. Best part, one bottle lasts for a year or more. 303 Protectant can also be used just a little messier.

Default gummi Pflege!!

Check this stuff out.

Seems to be a BMW connection, but I ordered some, and like it lots better than silicone grease.

Made my weatherstripping look new again.
