i forgot to tell the funny part of the story...we make the first run,no problem. he downloads the program and we do the second run...truck only picks up about 8rwhp???? hmmm...whats that funny smell? ooops...hes got the e-brake on!!!
anyone interested in a dyno? im tired of being called a liar.....ive yet to have a small block engine make more than 330rwhp and my record big bock car is 467rwhp.....where are all the 550hp smallblocks and 750hp bigblocks? :(
Im gonna be busy for a while..Im movin the dyno to a friends repair shop. he has a good clientele and hopefully the dyno being there increases his business and mine...the really cool part is that I'll still have 24/7 access to it! On the weekends i hope to be able to drag it around the midwest and give people a chance to try and break it(man..if i had a nickel for every time someone said their car would do that!) the dyno will be located off I-94 and exit 98..real ez to find. Just remember i can only handle 605rwhp.....dont pull a fast one on me! :D
I just paid $95 at a place in Columbus, Ohio for a four runs. We also checked air/fuel and it was 10.2, so after some reprogramming I hope to unleash some more power. HP/Torque numbers are in my sig.
Time to remove some fuel....today i spent some time with the marketing manager at a major performance parts distributor...i'm hopin to get a sponsor-type arrangement....maybe we can bring the dyno to a town near you? :D wish me luck
ive made 17 runs between yesterday and today...new overall record 481rwhp...374ci windsor! :) i also had to throw another one off,again..way too much power and no safety equipment :( things are picking up though! :)
well i finally went to the doctor today...first and second degree burns on my feet :( when i ran the new record holder the other day the heat was so intense that it burned both feet ...i have a whole new respect for stock car drivers, floorboards get real hot :mad
last night i went to a comedy club..lo and behold its motorcycle dyno night!! :D i was impressed by how he ran his operation..the customer made all the choices from all the options he gave them and everyone had a great time. i also learned about insurance and release forms...guess you just have to have them :( any opinions? if you were at a club, and there was a dyno available outside...would you try your car? :)
ok everyone...wish me luck!! i may have a sponsor for my dyno..i really need to close up this deal, funds are low and bills arent going away. i finally found a car tonite that was too big to put on the dyno...really the overhang..from the rear tire to the back bumper was over five and a half feet long...its a 63 mercury marauder S-55. im not a big ford fan,but i sure like this car....401hp 406 engine!! the only known and documented original..he also has the first new marauder available to the public :)
thanks for the info...i just finished workin on a 71 SS454 chevelle..now that car is fun! i had run it a few weeks ago and knew what we hoped to accomplish....we didnt improve the power out put at all,but the driveability was much better..my grandma could drive the car now! (if she were alive :( )
