He has been administered the drug and he now feels no pain. He is in an induced coma.

I'm so lucky to have known Ryan. I just wish it wasn't for such a short time. He is "one of a kind". I will always remember our time last Friday at the corvette plant and his ride in the ZR1!!!!

I was lucky enough to have spent time with Ryan last night and this morning at the hospital to say good-bye. May he now rest in peace. I will miss you Ryan....

I'm very sad at the moment. I will never forget Ryan and the courage he showed me every time I saw him. I pray to God for Ryan's eternal peace and I thank God for answering our prayers for Ryan's pain to stop.

Salmons family, you will find peace and understanding with God's will. You raised a beautiful young man. Ryan will always and forever be in my heart.

All in the same day I learned about this Corvette forum, and found the thread about Ryan, and learned that he's now leaving us and in the induced coma. As everyone else has said, it's been an inspiration and thanks to all who shared their words and experiences, especially Ryan! Just amazing.

My sympathies to all who love him and will miss his physical presence, and many tears will fall, some of which are my own. Yet I have every faith that his spirit is already in heaven, exactly the way he said it would be! And he'll find a way to let you know it some time down the road.

Ryan you, along with my wife who has fought this terrible disease for 5 years and 2 months, are my heros.

Thank you for showing us all how life is to be lived. We are better because of you. God touched you and your family to put you in this position. You were needed in heaven. It is hard for us to accept, but the universe unfolds as it should.

Godspeed on your journey my friend. We will see you on the other side. tdb

My prayers continue to go out to Ryan and his family. Ryan touched people he never even met with his courage and fight. Now he will see his courage rewarded in heaven.

I've been following Ryan's story for the past few weeks. I am sad to hear that he has taken a turn for the worse. I was really hoping that he might come out of this. I wish him and his family all the best. You are in my prayers.

My friend Ryan Salmons passed away 15 minutes ago. I only met Ryan for the first time in person on April 4, 2009. He fought a hell of a fight. He was mature beyond his years, he was fun, he was honest, he was loyal. I love that kid and will miss him terribly.
