Default Software Update Feedback

Just a few things of interest...

Black text on dark gray background is impossible to read.

Black text on medium gray background is difficult to read.

Member Profile is now displayed in an unintuitive way. Fuctions used the most should be at the top. Many members use the "Find all posts by [member]" link to follow up on existing threads. Now we must scroll way down to get to this link.

Slowness still is an issue, as are database errors.

Did I loose the envelope icons in My Recent Topics? Don't like the current configuration there, miss the open amd closed envelopes.

Thanks, Norm

When doing a search the results come up fine however when you click on one of the results you get invalid link for everything.

Also do not like not having at least the basic tabs that I had before. And all of the buddies are gone so now we have to do freind requests? Is this myspace now?

COOKIES do not stay set either. I must sign-in each and every time I return to this site.

  • Search function is slow.
  • Search results for My Recent Topics have an entry for every time I have posted, rather than one per thread.
  • I have to expand over the entire screen and still run the horizontal slider to see. I'm running 1280x800 on a 15.4 wide screen.
  • Are you mapping areas as links or using standard hypertext links? I seem to be missing when I click a lot today.
  • The Reply window (what I am writing in right now.) is nearly off the right side.
  • When replying, if I click "Preview Post", my "Show your signature" unclicks.

  • The link "Corvette Forum > Help & Feedback > Help Forum > Software Update Feedback " at the top of the thread is no longer at the bottom. It was very handy to hae at bottom. Can we get it back?
  • Can you list a set of "improvements" so we know what new features we have?

OK, I see now that a "remember me" check box has been added. Thanks

Default Improvements

One more improvement and I won't be able to wait long enough to see anything. Please consider there are a few poor souls out in the country that can only get dail-up.

Is there something that can be done to reduce the left to right scrolling to read a post?

Hey.....I'm on here because my husband won't come near the thing. Now you're trying to run me off. Not good on the scrolling thing.

Well one of the things adding to slowness is that useless drop-down that switches the "style" from C1,C2,C3,C4,C5, C5 Zo6,C6,C6 Zo6, C6 ZR1. Giving merit that someone actually wanted a feature like this, why on earth is it up at the top under the LogIn? Get rid of it, or if someone can't live without this, then at least put in their User Preferences.

For those of you with scrolling issues, what monitor resolution are you running?

No advanced functions when posting. Cannot subscribe to threads. Makes it almost impossible to keep track of what is going on in certain threads.

I have 1280 by 800 on a widescreen 15.4 IBM T61. It is about an inch too small to show the whole page. The main column in the thread and the forum listing needs to be narrower by at least 15%.

The old system with the ad in the first post usually kicked it all off the right side, too, so probably most are not responding because while it is wrong, it seems "normal" to them.

The search is still slow. I hit My Recent Topics and it takes 10 seconds to open on cable.

The search results don't include page numbers on each thread. It used to have "Title of thread (1 2 3 Last) but that is gone.

The locked thread icon is missing in the search results. It might be in the thread listing, too, but I didn't pay attention until I wrote this.

As mentioned above, previewing the post unclicks the signature button.

The gray login box in the upper right seems to have lost a lot of info.

The left side gray Userid column in the thread seems to have lost a lot of info also.

It seems like everything is slower, with some more slow than other sections.

A lot of older threads are not accessible.

Try to do a search on "drum vs disc", when you click on one of the older threads (pre 2008) an error will be displayed :"No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator".

Issues still here.

If you worked on them through the night, the fixes didn't fix.

I see a lot of comments concerning the new S/W on the board. Here's a couple of issues I'm seeing.

1) Pages take longer to load now. I'm not sure why the "upgrade" was done, but I see backwards performance.

2) "My Recent Topics" -- the thread titles will not go gray once you click and open them. They use to go gray so you could tell the old viewed ones from ones that were new ... just like the way it works in the main forums. The My Recent Topics function is basically useless IMO if you can't tell if new posts have been added to the thread.

3) The emoticons to the right side of the text window where you enter a post are copped off in IE7 only ... can only see 1.5 colums of them.
