I think he's talking about 2008? 2009? I believe Larry did have this car at that event.
EDIT: Definitely 2008....

Larry has quite the collection of racing Vettes many L-88 cars but, I wonder about his judgment of driving that GS around like a normal daily driver. I have heard of him doing it on many occasions. Larry also has quite the collection of Shelby American historic cars, life is good for Larry the rest of us are just "serfs".

To answer some questions I have received....
Yes,this really is Grand Sport #3. The owner of this 6-10 million dollar car lives right down the road from Alice's. Being a 1963, the car is smog exempt, which means registration is not an issue. However, the car was sporting dealer plates. Several of my buddies who were there know the owner and authenticated the car.

Here is all 5 GRAND SPORTS
This photo was taken by ART EASTMAN at AMELIA ISLAND Concour March 2003 that was completely rained out. BILL WARNER did the impossible and got all 5 cars together in one place.
The show had over 8 inches of heavy rain all 4 days. and most cars stayed in their trucks and never made it to the show field.
On Sunday afternoon, the sky started to clear and the 5 GRAND SPORTS, which all had been in the Hotel Ballroom the entire weekend got ready to be loaded on to their trucks for the ride back home.
Only a show in the early 70's had this ever been done before where all 5 cars were together.

What a neat Video.
1) That sure was quieter than I was expecting
2) That must be the ONLY GS with the Special Running lights on top of the car.
Why is the Red light in front of the White light, instead of the other way around?
Thanks,
Ty

The owner did say that he had just put the "street exhaust" on the car. I know that it is not nearly this quiet when it is track ready.

Actually the silver blue roadster in the back left background is not the original vin#002 body.It is a replicated body from Wintersteen's original body. The chasis is original though. The owner at the time thought the unrestored original body was too valuable to be out doing vintage road racing with. See the Simeone Museum or Restoration of GS #002.
