Default No More Corvette! She's Gone!

Well, my baby's gone! I traded her in on a 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Grand Touring A/T. I know! "What the hell?!" Even my Hyundai salesman was shocked. I told them what I wanted for my C6 and they did the deal. Got super cheap payments on the Genesis coupe and money back. Why you might ask?! It's was a combination of upcoming expensive repairs and new tires for the C6, our lifestyle has changed since I retired, the slow economy and some brand new diagnosed arthritis in my hip. (Long trips were a killer! Home town and Dad 600 miles away.) Anyway, hope is not totally lost. The wife says she's ok with me getting one of the new C7's in 3 years when they hit the streets. I should have the Genesis paid off by then. I hope my arthritis doesn't get any worst though, because, if it does, I'll just have to suck it up for a new C7! I will be keeping up with things on the forum still, but, I just won't be in the water swimming with the sharks for a while. Words of sympathy will be greatly appreciated!

Defintition of irony here....Lists the slow economy as a reason to get out of his C6 and trades it in on a foreign car.....

You do what you gotta do (and we all have temporary lapses of sanity). Good luck with your whatever!

On a somewhat more serious note, I hope everything goes to plan.

This thread is gonna get ugly!!!

Good luck with the future. If I had to buy a nice-looking, comfy touring coupe in the sub-$30k range, I'm not sure what I'd get. It's certainly not the "Big 3's" strongest area by any stretch (and never has been).

Hyundai has come a long way, that is for sure. I bought a Lincoln MKS for my wife. I like to support Ford, and the Lincoln is a dream!

You should be getting something in the mail from HYUNDAI with your "GUARANTEED TRADE VALUE" certificate good for up to 4 years down the road should you trade it for another Hyundai.Nice car though. Not a VETTE,but nice for what it is.

Should he have done the maintenance repairs and new tires and then traded it in for the same amount??? That is a very unrealistic, idealistic statement. He did what everyone does -- trade in a 5 year old car when the costs made sense for him!

I'm not too sure I would have went public on a Corvette Forum with your "change" to a Hyundai??

Definitely doesnt make sense with the reasons listed.. as the Camaro V6 it direct competitor for that Hyundai in every category including price. But I guess people who post threads saying "I sold/traded my C6 for this other car" dont make sense to me either. We all have the right/freedom to post whatever we wish.. but some things are best kept to yourself.

My daughter just bought a 2012 Malibu & loves it.. its a V6 and is peppy as one could hope for..

However my C6 gets BETTER gas mileage than her Malibu....
