Default Paint job

NE PA peppered and chipped the paint in a lot of places on my 2013 427 this year. I want to have the car painted to a show car quality. Does anyone know of a great paint/body shop in the NE PA region? I will be staying with the original color, but changing the black stripe to black paint instead of a sticker. Thanks.

finding a shop is just pure legwork, if you are paying the bill yourself, you have to get out drive around visit and talk to at least five shops, get their story. Each shop or shop owner will have a different perspective, this may be a good job for a collision shop because they can get it in and out fast. make sure to ask what materials they use. What are the reccomended shops from your insurance company (even though its not an insurance deal)? Insurance companies are fixing thousands of cars every day and have the people to get the jobs in and get them out.

Sorry, I do not know any shop that i would stake my reputation on and refer to you...BUT... with everything but getting a list of shop from your insurance company. The reason being I am NOT and NEVER will be on a "preferred" list of any insurance company. The "mentality" of how the insurance companies think is totally different from that of a shop that does "show quality" work like myself.. And "getting it in and out" fast contradicts SHOW QUALITY. You will not find Gordon Ramsey offering filet and lobster at a drive-thru.

Depending on where you live in NE Pa, there are a several restoration/custom shops that have been in business for many years and are nationally known. Two are in NW NJ and one in Lake Ariel, PA .

Hullco Layton Garage in Layton, NJ

Old Stillwater Garage in Stillwater, NJ

Croughn's Auto Styling Lake Ariel, Pa.

Sonny says he's retired but I don't really believe that totally! He's been around a long time, more of a customizer but has been doing Corvettes for decades. He spent many years in Landing, NJ before heading to Pa. a few years back.

All very talented guys and I am sure there are more in your area.

Good luck.

Keith

Thanks guys, I'm in the middle of looking for a place and I am in no hurry to get it back. My only concern is that the paint is super beautiful when it's done. I'll keep this post running for pics later.

It's still car show season. Hit the local shows and when you see a car with really nice paint, ask who did it.
