It's all in the launch, try not to spin but feather it out and get it to grip and rip! Then when it shifts to 2nd, Shift manually into 2nd during this time so you can ride 2nd gear to 6200 rpm (gets a better 0 - 100 mph time) or the car will shift @ 5600 if you let it automatically.
the problem is your tires and weight transfer
60ft should be 1.5 or lower

I have a '97 but how do you tell whether it is mn6,a4, frc?

mn6 is 6 speed manual transmission, A4 is an automatic trans, 4 speed, FRC is a Fxed Roof Coupe, AKA hardtop,

I didn't put my info for the list but my 02 C5 had just a vararam and ran 12.2 at 110mph(I think it was 110) with a 1.90 60 on the stock runflats. M6 car. Was 3 years ago in 80 degree weather and I killed the clutch in 3 runs .

Stock 02 C5 A4 with Vararam only (stock converter and exhaust manifolds)

1.95 60'
8.30 @ 87 MPH 660'
Haven't tried 1/4 mile yet, but my 1 1/2 years worth of records say that this is right around 12.80 @ 108 MPH 1/4 mile.

This was after a recent tune by myself, and also with great air (@ 500' corrected elevation).

1998 vert a4 3.15 all factory stock 87,000 miles 2.06 60ft left in drive 90 degrees and humid 13.46 at 104 had one 60 footer 1.86 (brake torque and tires just barely turning and nailed it on the green and hooked) and ran 105 however this run I manually shifted at 6000 and trans has a fraction of a second delay to shift input and hit the rev limiter slightly in both up shifts and ran a 13.50 flat on that run.

13.2sec@108mph for me on a hot track last season, with a 2.73 rear on runflats. I'm hoping that my Christmas Vararam and a cold spring morning will put me in the 12's!
