Mark:
Your wife actually let you type something while you are on vacation.
She usually carries your manhood in her purse.

Et tu Brute?
It has not been that long ago that someone put you in the 10s.

Getting down to the last minute and the last thing I need to do is go shopping for a helmet. I've spent the last couple nights tweaking my car, and now tonight I get to make a **** ton of BBQ mop and rib rub from scratch. Then tomorrow I have to shoot home after work and get the ribs started & tend to them - so I feel much better . . . Thanks!

BTW- My helmet is a SNELL APPROVED M2000 that has been scrutinized by an unnamed overzealous tech guy at our local track which shall also be unnamed and was found to be compliant with current regulations.

2) Gary, I think I know who ya mean
I too have been thoroughly inspected.3) I was recently tech'ed by an over-zealous tech (Atco) who said I needed SFI 45.1 roll bar padding to replace the purple foam padding I had in one spot (to the left of my head).
The NHRA padding rule is interesting (It says "Y")... But: Do you need it or don't you (cars quicker than 9.99)? Some say "If you use it, it must be SFI approved", Others say "You must have it anywhere your helmet may come in contact with the bar/cage", and some say "If you don't use it at all, that's ok too".
I have all SFI 45.1 high density padding where my helmet may come in contact with the cage (just to be on the safe side).
I've also heard the window net expires in 2 years, same as the belts. I'm all good with being up to date, but never thought someone would check the date on my net: But, they have.
Most of this doesn't apply until you start getting into that "quicker than 9.99 / over 150 mph range." But, always good to share experiences: It sux to get to a track and be turned away for a tech violation.
Forgot to mention: Some of you know this story... I once got into a pretty good argument at Island with Tech. They guy asked if I had a Driveshaft Safety Loop. I replied that I had a torque tube. He told me to stop wasting his "effing" time. I ended up sending them photos from under my car, which they then sent to the NHRA. After weeks of back-and-forth, they replied that they did not know about torque tubes and that I could tech in and apologized for the language used towards me. I now have a loop around my torque tube (the "tamer") but have not been back to Island in a few years.

I'm on a trip and won't get home until about 0300 tomorrow morning. Can't run the car, but I might find some time to come watch a bit - if I wake up in time...

...I like this guy...

except it's true that Tirecraft's package is kept with his wife.
