Right now the weather looking real good. 63 for the high and 51 for the low with bright sunshine. Which means good track temps and pretty good IAT's. Should be a good day if the weather report is accurate.

We've done a few track rentals from 2008 through 2010 (NHRA Licensed in '10), all on a 346 LS6. Now, with some tire and suspension tweaking, we'll see if the new forged 402 LS2 can pull a rabbit out of the hat for us and add another run to the ending of this video... with a little better number in the final sequence. This vid gets quicker as the years go by (It's some kind of addiction)... Any guesses for 2011?

I'm guessing 2011 is going to be your fastest year yet.

I'm guessing that before 2011 is over you will have touched the 8.7s maybe even 8.6s, it might not (but could) happen this Friday but in my opinion you will be solidly in the 8s before 2011 is over.
The car is likely capable of a little more but as you know all too well this stuff (tires, boost, ideal launch & shift RPMs etc.) takes time to dial in just right.
Can I use a Snell M2000 atv helmet? it's the kind that you would use goggles with offroad, not a shield. Trying to save a little money here.
The only other helmet I have is an old m/c Snell M95 (too old?), and it doesn't really fit anyhow.
The Snell M2000 should be fine (until 12/31/11 at least) as long as the sticker inside the helmet (under the padding) is clearly marked as such.
The M95 is no longer approved.

Not right at the moment but in 2012 you might want to, I believe the M2000 and SA2000 helmets are only good until the end of 2011.

Just to be clear, it's like this:
It is clearly marked Snell M2000 on the inside. But like I said, no shield. Can someone confirm 99% that this will be acceptable? Today would be my last day to shop, since tomorrow night I'll be tending to the ribs after work.
Thanks for the input guys, sorry to keep bugging you.

Should be fine bro! I think the track will allow quads to run.

I'm searching all over, and can't find a definitive answer.
I mean, the rules state Snell 2000 - Not SA2000 or M2000
I know the M2000 are different with the fire and roll bar impact ratings, but that doesn't mean it's not ok. my only concern is the lack of shield. Do you guys have/need your shield down when you race? keep in mind I'll be lucky to be running low 13's.
I guess the worst that could happen is I'd have to wait until 11am for the Speed Shop to open, and then buy a new helmet.

Sorry, I was just pokin' fun and I'm not up to speed on the helmet req's.
Someone will probably chime in pretty quickly here with a definitive answer for you.
I may have an extra helmet too. I'll check. What size do you wear?
