Yeah, looking forward to correcting a few little glitches in the tune. This should be a good day to log and make some adjustments. Clutch packs are done and we are just about set.

Going to try and load everything up the night before and get an early start possibly stop at the Red Lion Diner in the morning for some breakfast.

That could work I'll be getting a very early start so I don't have to dork around with mounting the Bogarts etc.

Let me know if you're stopping for chow and I'll meet you.
We should drag DroptTheTop along too if he's up for it.

Here's a few things we will be going over at the meeting to have a fun and safe day.
1. Specific lanes for certain tires
2. Burnout box swept and maintained, water control, water placement (behind wall), burnouts in right place
3. One lane at a time unless a heads up prearranged race
4. No sitting on walls and no crowding burnout and launch area, stay behind barriers
5. If you Left Before 3rd Amber, you will not get a timeslip.
6. If you are unsure about anything, stop and ask. Rentals are the place to redo things. If you screw something up, don't panic, stop and ask for help. Don't compound one mistake with several others and risk hurting your car, yourself, or someone else.
7. If you need assistance ask for help.
8. You cannot run unless you are fully paid, you have filled out a tech card and signed the back, and we are cleared to take passes.
9. Place any unused number you wish on the driver’s side of the car preferably on the back window.
10. Safety first. Make sure you have all the proper gear needed and have your belts on and windows up from burnout all the way until return road.
11. Timeslips will be printed out right after your pass the traps in the center of the drag strip by the starting line. If you care about it you need to get it or have someone get it for you otherwise it may get discarded. No one is responsible for getting you your timeslip. Also please be careful when retrieving your timeslip because you may have to cross in front of a car getting ready to launch. Proceed with caution and respect for other racers.
12. All kids need to be behind fences. Ask about ages if you bring kids.
13. As always pull off to the side immediately if you notice anything wrong with your vehicle during a pass.
14. Only personnel performing work, assisting a driver, or videotaping are allowed in front of the wall.
15. Must have a sticker placed on vehicle to run.

As previously stated, we would like everyone to arrive early and have at meeting at 8:45. (The best air will be first thing in the morning. )
See everyone on Friday.

I assume this means an LB3A situation. I was planning on working on my R/Ts a bit as well at this rental.

Since I'm a total No0b to the track, I also thought I'd be working on my R/T. Is this really not the case?

Not sure how early I'll be getting up, since I'll be smokin' ribs until midnight!

Marc,
You are correct. It was easier to write green than explain Left Before 3rd Amber. I can change it to be technically correct.

I've also seen many times new racers just go when they get impatient waiting for lights to drop. If the starter is having issues when your car is staged you may have to back out and reset yourself. There's no rush so don't waste a good run.

Damn, smoking ribs till midnight? You gonna be okay to drive the next day? How long does the effect of rib last?
  • Actually - Thanks for going out of your way to bring something so tasty!
As for some other posts... There will be no LSx Rumble for us in 2011. Therefore, no need for nine second dials.

Hopefully, they'll be allowing a 500 PT for anyone interested in running on that and won't hold her too long - wouldn't want to cook a trans... prefer smoked ribs (i.e., the starter will take requests for the tree?)

Ok, I'm just not down with all the terms I guess.
I do know to leave at the third amber, and not fall asleep and wait for the green.

I have also seen some runs where it appears that the driver can leave after it turns green, but I don't know why, or what it's called.

We can talk to the starter. Hopefully it will be June attending the tree. He does an excellent job. We need to explain throroughly what we want if we change from the standard tree.

Everyone else,
Do not worry. If you are a newbie, you'll have a regular tree.

We'll have you write it on your window and inform the starter ahead of time. They tend to groan a bit if we switch back and forth alot. However, if we give them a heads up and plan it out it should be no issue.

Really looking forward towards this friday.

The weather forecast seems to be looking great too.

See everyone there.....

Scott, I might have the slowest sled, but it'll be from the smoked ribs....
