BUT would it start right up , did it 2 different times, as quick as I could get off road , hit button, fired right up, ran good, would it do this with weak battery????
What I would do, and don't know why the dealership didn't do it, but when I worked for Lincoln and had problems like your, we installed what we call flight recorder on the car and when it occurs you press a button to record what the ECM is doing.
Might want to ask for recorder.
Mechanic had it attached when he drove it 60 miles with NO problems, is going to try it again, maybe 120 miles????
If you check tightness/cleanliness yourself, please hear this caution: DO NOT attempt to check tightness on the starter solenoid with the battery connected. The wrench will certainly short to ground. Same holds true for the engine ground conn right above the starter G106. There, you'll likely short to the starter solenoid terminal.
Cautious and careful, dont want to create MORE problems, THANKS
UPDATE drove car and at 119 miles DIED, dash black, pull over starts right up ,go c 100ft,dies again, starts right up, drove 20 miles to dealership with their attached computer??, it read low fuel pressure(fuel pump?) They had checked most of ground and power cables. Thanks to all for feedback
UPDATE think we have problem diagnosed??????FUEL PUMP low pressure, try to order fromG.M. BACKORDERED wouldn't you know it!!!!! RIDICULOUS
This has happened to others (about the backorder on fuel pumps). You hopefully are not stuck disassembled in a dealership back room. Go aftermarket on the pump; otherwise, you'll be laid up for an unreasonable time.

Rockauto.com did have the pump in stock last time I checked..They also had Delphi pumps which were GM suppliers in past years.. Delphi makes good parts if they don't have the AC Delco in stock.........WW

I have to believe they knew where to look, car is in their hands at dealership, I don"t have a lift in my garage,
I've read and here of some people replacing the fuel pump unnecessary because they had other issues with the delivery of electrical power of sorts. Hopefully the dealer check that pump issue with certainly that it is the pump and nothing else.
I'm really not thinking that the fuel pump is the true issue here. Usually the pumps just start dropping in pressure, not just quite all of a sudden and work again.

going to be an expensive no-fix if that's NOT the problem, gotta keep my fingers crossed and hope they are right, gonna look at all connections going in
Interesting, my '08 just up and died pulling out from a light two weeks ago. Dash went dark and no juice.
Coasted to a stop and car magically came back to life.
happened at least 3x that day in a 200 mile ride. It even wiped out the clock and presets so that's a definite electrical issue.
Battery is a Bosch on it's 2nd year of use and the car sits on a battery tender (last year a Schumacher and this year a battery tender brand).
Haven't had a chance to play with the car but it sure seems like a defect in the battery... did check the terminals and they are tight though one does have a lot of corrosion around it.
I'll have to run the OBDII diagnostics on it and see if I can pull any codes.

Hope for HELP, yesterday while driving 05 c6 with 21,000 miles quit running, pull over place in Park starts right off and runs for 20 miles, quits running (service vehicle soon) put in Park , starts right up runs good , this a.m. take to dealership , NO service codes show up???? When it quit running everything went OFF, dash was black. If anyone has had this problem, and FIXED it Help
A while back my 08 did the same thing to me. What went wrong was the wiring harness, at the starter solonoid(SP) the wires burned through inside the harness wrapping, close to the nut where it hooks to the solonid. Just stopped every thing until it cooled down a bit.. Hope this helps..

It's stuff like this that scares me. The electrical nightmare types of issues that leave ya stranded at a stoplight. I have an 08' that has had no issues at all other than mysteriously drained battery after a few days that was solved with a battery tender purchase. Other than that, every time time I drive my 08, I cross my fingers that it starts back up wherever I take it. Which is why I always have my AAA card with me in case I need a tow. On the other hand, my 4 cylinder daily driver has had the shi*t run out of it, has never been on a battery tender, and just keeps asking for more. I'm always confident my 4 cylinder daily driver will start up and never die. But my vette always makes me paranoid especially after reading posts like this.
