Factory latch assembly was just under 4 pound with the striker.. I have not yet removed the surrounding bracket, I have to remove the water tank to get to it.

New latches only weigh a few ounces.

A little paint on the exposed portion of the door..
A pile of "extra" parts..
And the finished door. Now I just have to decide what to do with the window controls. I am thinking about moving the driver side controls to the center console.

insane build..... big kajones to go 240mph+

I'm hoping to make a Mojave Mile event in 2017 with my turbo LS9 Rx-7!
My car makes around 1400hp flywheel; however not sure I have the ***** to go 240mph.
I have a rare 2.47 gear to put out back in the 8.8" solid axle mine runs.

This is a good gear ratio calculator to play with......

How's the X holding up? Must be doing okay since you haven't commented any issues with it. How many hits and how hard are you spinning it?

No issues with the F1x so far.. 15 or so passes in the 1.5 mile, and about the same on the dyno.. Broke one 10 rib, but it only lasted about 10 seconds after installing, so something was wrong there.. One broken cog at max rpm.

Havent really pushed it yet. Running 8"/4.25" under 7200 rpm (put me somewhere close to mfg max gearbox rpm). Plan is to run 4", more rpm and a couple stages on top.

I did end up shifting the 10 rib about .050" off what the laser showed as true to keep it from jumping a rib.. maybe solid motor mounts would help?

Engine stayed in place, I couldn't even tilt it back as much as normal due to all the extra plumbing behind the intake. Tube did slide back with little effort.

I have to get caught up on updates.. Have been working lots of hours on the car to get ready for a mile and a half event in 2 weeks.

Here is a quick clip with 3" straight pipes in the meantime.
