IN your box of mystery keys, I see a paper fob that says "84Jeep". That may be the source of some of your GM keys. In that era, Jeep(at least the CJs) used Chevy steering columns, ignition locks and keys.

Elwood, you can pull the glove compartment lock or trunk lock and take it to a locksmith and he can cut a key for it. About $40. I did this with my '61, which came with no keys. The original style GM blanks are available.

Good idea GTOguy.

I wanted to pull the engine this weekend but have to work 12-16 hr days for the next four days due to events this weekend here.

The keys arrived today Tom. Thank you very much. Since you wouldn't take payment, I paid it forward and gave my 68 manual to a member in the C3 crowd.

Slalomfiend came over yesterday and showed us his car. He did an incredible job and the car is beautiful to see in person. Gave my son a ride as well and offered for my wife to take a run but she didn't want to be a burden. She couldn't believe that our car has that potential. He stayed for several hours and went over my car as we went through some of his manuals checking things. Super great guy by the way and I'm glad he is close by. Here is a link to his rebuild if you are not familiar. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ct-update.html

Got bored this morning and decided to see what was behind the interior window moldings. Forgot that I wouldn't really be able to tell about the lower windshield frame rust from the interior side. Here are the pics anyway.

If you want knock-offs, I have a decent set of repros with tires--came with my '67, I replaced them with rally wheels. I believe one of them is missing the knock off, but I bought a replacement, in my garage somewhere. if interested pm me.

Thanks guys. JMG2, not sure which way I will be going there but will keep you in mind if I go that route. Thanks.

I decided to look at the plugs from the even side as I did not mark them when I pulled them. To me, three look used and one doesn't look as used. You think the cleaner one may be out of that clean no 8 cylinder?

My never stop running brain has hit a tangent for this thread. I got excited when I thought I found the build sheet for this car only to quickly realize it was for my brother's nova. I wish I had all the paperwork here for my car but oh well. I will keep it for awhile I guess and see if his car pops up on the world wide web somewhere, but I'm betting it got scrapped. Here are some paperwork pics for someone's enjoyment.

Finally got the car in the garage, still waiting for New York to clear up the title fiasco and scraping out carpet glue is where I am at now. Going through some more of my brother's papers and receipts I found this paper and got excited thinking it was the numbers for the block that is in there now since the pad is clean. Well, one look on my block and this is not it as my number is GM 3858174. I'm wondering if this note is a motor he was looking at or was in the car when he bought it. It wouldn't have been original for this car and I don't even know if it is a corvette block. Here is what was on the paper.

Behind flywheel right side - SPECIAL H23 with 870 over 852 and the letter S below the H23

Back top left side- GM 3782870

Right side front - 5121522 F05I0HR and the I is not a 1.

Anyway, wife just walked in as I am typing and opened up the checkbook saying we can put some money to a new engine or whatever. I'm thinking take the body off and do the frame and suspension.
