Okay, how much are you going to charge to 'rent' the laptop? Or is it like the Predator and will only work on one car? :D
It will be locked to only his car after the first time he uses the software. You can pay an additional fee to add a second car. It's about 1/4 of the price of the orinal purchase to add another car.

Mike, if we get more than a half dozen to go we will need the full day probably. Chris likes to let the car cool down between pulls in order to get a good reading. Also, it takes a while to get the car strapped in. Why don't we shoot for 10-ish.

It does burn the VIN# into it, but you can purchase up to 3 additional VINs for $150 each. Let me get more familiar with it first, and then once you get more mods we can see about tuning your car.
I do have EFILive V6, so we can take some data from the FRC and see how she is running. :yesnod:

10AM sounds great to me!!

Matt, is off of Hwy 266 (Sam Ridley) going east past the Smyrna airport, turn left onto Weakley. I can't think of the name of the drive that you turn right onto but it is almost through the industrial park, being possibly the last drive before the subdivisions at the lake. But, after you turn right it is the fourth building on the left (blue). I believe Batesville Casket company is just across the street if that helps any. I'll find out and post later. Glad you are coming. Did you get that stereo installed yet?

Hey guys, maybe I missed it, but this is a wide band dyno, correct? If so count the 10th works for me, bearing anything unforseen. Like snow!!!
Just keep me posted.

They had wideband at their old shop in Nashville. I'm not sure if they do in Smyrna or not, but they probably do.

Heh, I'm still lost. I go south of Bell road about twice a year, and I never have been on Sam Ridley.

Did youget that stereo installed yet?
Yep, put in a Pioneer CD head unit. Now I have a buzz inside the driver's door panel that I have to deal with.

They do have the wideband.

Bryan, I have the LT4 edit on order from carputing but I don't have laptop with RS232 port. My super-duper HP pavilion zt1180 ain't got it. Any suggestions on a good used Laptop? Actually, any good suggestions at all about what I am getting myself into? :smash:

They didn't have looging of the wideband at their old shop. I hope they do now.

RE: Lt1-edit Looking at your mods it shouldn't be hard to get you car running nicely. How does it run as is? I definately advise you join the LT1-edit e-mail list.

Bryan, it runs pretty well so far. I do get an SES light now and then. Funny thing, but since going to Long Tubes and 52MM, it sets a misfire sometimes after steady 75MPH on interstate. Use to, it just set it at idle. I have the Autoxray 6000 on order so maybe next week I can get a good scan of what is going on.

A wideband sensor is the probe in the exhaust pipe, correct? That is what they have for the A/F analysis at the shop.

I'll finalize plans for the 10th with Chris and if any names need to be changed at the start of the thread, let me know so I can give Chris a heads up. Look forward to seeing everyone and a fun day at the dyno. Mike, do you know the directions to the shop?

Sounds like a plan.

I was thinking about getting some new spark plugs this week or next, after reading about the problems folks have been having with the electrodes on Delco Rapidfires over in C5 General (electrodes falling out). But I'm not sure I want to buy the NGKs, since they're a product of Japan. Any of you guys using the Bosch plugs or the fancier Rapidfires from Delco?

Matt, the last I read the other week an author really liked that bosch 4 electrode platinum. It really does work. Reminds me of the plugs I put in my old airplane at $38 a piece and they only had 2 electrodes. Next time that is what I am getting.

Bosch +4's are great for about 4,000 miles, then after that.......the power drops off, the gas mileage drops, idle and responsiveness also are not that good. I had them in for about 6 months, and then I bought NGK TR55s and haven't had a problem since. :)
Oh......by the way.....that drivers rear plug is a pain in the butt to get too!!!!

I've been using the standard Bosch platinum plugs in my Corvette and they do quite well. I just got a set of NGK TR6's for my TA(Colder than the TR55 and smaller gap because of the blower). Hope they do as well as poeple say they do. I've always used the colder Champion RS9YC in the TA before with no problems.

Um...when you say that...what am I gonna need to buy? Remember, I once owned an LT1 car where the plug changing instructions start out:

1) Lift and support car appropriately
2) Remove left front wheel
3) Remove left front wheelwell

Mike, thanks for the heads up on the +4's. I was all set to yank out the new GM's for the 4's. Nothing like the voice of experience! Hope you all are having a merry Christmas. (sitting here drawing double time at work while wondering to where everyone disappeared).
