Austin, Tx. area meet
If you are in Austin on Saturday night you need to come to the huge car show @ 1431 & Parmer. Behind the WhatABurger, in front of the Home Depot. 150+ cars every Sat. night from 6 to 9 PM. Some of nearly every kind of car (except ricers). we had 25+ 'Vettes the last two weeks, at least one of every model from C1 to C6. It's a family thing, families parking their cars and wandering around with their kids looking at all the cars being shown. everthing from restorations to hot rods, F-Bodies to tri five chevys, Old Thunderbirds to 40's Lincolns, and lots of 'Vettes.

Better make it soon if you're coming out for the show. There were a number of ricers, bikers and monster trucks (loud exhausts, burnouts, loud music) this last Sat. They were blocking aisles and were rowdy and loud. They'll probably get this show shut down like others in the past.

Lets just hope that that doesn;t happen!

Just means that we need to police the place ourselves to make sure we do not lose the spot. The ricers were told once to stay away for stupid crap they did. Sounds like be need to be told again.

I was out a few weeks ago, and I try to get out there each week, but the past two weeks have been very busy and with all the rain, the car hasn't been clean enough to show off.
I'll try to get out there this week.

I must be too old. I don't understand the need for LOUD. The straight pipe Harleys, the fart can Hondas (with their one wheel burnouts) and the open header drag cars are bad enough but the fascination with sound systems at maximum volume loses me. From the sound of the ones that used to be at Vans and are coming to 1431/Parmer now I would say the prime requirment to show up is cracked speakers and lots of bass.

Van's got shut down? That's bad news for the Parmer/1431 meet.
While I don't mind the import scene, there were a lot of kids at the Van's location, and a lot of street racing was getting started out of there. I'm not surprised it got shut down, and we're going to have to be diligent to make sure the Parmer meet doesn't get shut down.
I'll show up this weekend and try to help out.
....and I've got loud pipes on the vette...

I haven't been able to make it out in a few weeks and I probably won't be able to make it in a few more so I hope it doesn't get shutdown before I get to go again. Aaaand I'll try and be quiet next time I show up....J/K, I think I'm not the loud one.
